Hi, it's been quite a while.
For those of you who don't know me (which should be quite a few as I haven't been active for some time), my name is "The Boomerang" (stupid name, I know, can't change it now) and I've been a member of this page for quite some time now, having the priveledge of being both an administrator and bureaucrat for a good chunk of that time.
I'm now not as active as I previously used to be, but decided to update on my whereabouts and the future of this community.
While it's great to see many of you at work to keep this wiki up to date and running, I'm unfortunately seeing many informalities and inconsistancies in our pages.
As an informational wiki it is our role to provide unbiased, factual, concise information to the public. With that being said, many of our pages have fallen victim to unnessecary filler, fan input, and outdated formatting.
Now, I am partially to blame due to my inactivity. As I was away for so long, it's going to be very hard for me to restore certain pages.
Thus, I am requesting that we take action as a community. Mainly, I am hoping to enforce more staff members. I'm not sure which admins/staff members are currently active so a personal note on my message wall would be super helpful.
For the rest of our contributers, I am looking for those with a consistent edit history (hypocritical for me to say, I know), a good knowledge and application of the format, and essentially good editors who make great work to join our staff! I may reach out to you if I see you're making good contributions but if you have any interest, please don't hesitate to reach out. This is not at all a huge committment, and is entirely based on availability. There's no vigiorous work schedule, just chip in when you can. While I can't say that you'll become a staff member solely through interest, regardless of whether you are one or not you can still contribute.
A staff member essentially is given specific powers over a normal editor that gives them more resources to be able to contribute to the wiki. To read more about it, check the page right here. The current positions that I am opening up are Grammar Group, Article Improvers, Update Users, and Image Units, though these roles and their responsibilities are subject to change based off of what the wiki currently needs. Administators and Bureaucrats are currently not open positions.
Remember, being a staff member is not an excuse for misconduct. These priveledges can be given and taken away.
So if you are interested, please reach out, I'd love to hear from you all and until then, peace :)
