Hey, everyone! Imbecile here, the thread mod from days of yore who hasn't been doing his job for a good while now, leading to his very fall into obscurity (just like the Stella series).
It's late morning on my 18th birthday as I'm writing this, and for that, I might as well make a move in the recent plans I've had, along with explaining myself before I return to my hole, probably to not return... for a half-eternity.
The reason why some of you haven't seen me a lot these past months is for a few reasons, and they can all be boiled down to a handful of simple things:
Rovio's disrespect towards their fanbase
Loss of interest
Personal maturation
To start things off, most of you can obviously guess why I haven't been recently interacting with the series, and that's because... I just feel ripped off by modern Rovio. Yeah, I can be lumped together with all them "OG's" who whine about Rovio's removal of the classic games. But I do it because I've witnessed a franchise go corrupt by money and Movie Mighty Eagle-ing on their own graves for God-knows-why, pushing themselves "into the red" so hard that they had to auction themselves off to Sega just to keep the franchise on life support for yet another 15 years... but you already know that, don't you?
Either way, as that was happening, I have also been realizing how much I've lost interest for the franchise, both because of what's stated above, and me having found a new community that I find engaging on a more personal level (with people whom I feel comfortable to be around, that helped me find a place in this world... brrr-).
Either way, with that, I would like to make an announcement for something that I've been thinking about for a while now:
I am going to retire from my position as Angry Birds Wiki Thread Moderator.
The "why" of it is pretty obvious considering what I've laid out so far. I just also feel that it'd be nice to throw in the towel so that I wouldn't have that specific fact poking me in the back of my mind at random opportunities.
Either way, I should probably get some final messages to my "coworkers" in order, in honor of my time here:
@ChickenLover21 - Despite rocky happenings in the past, I can certainly say that AquaChoco has made the right decision with promoting you. Your competence has made itself known time and time again, and I hope that you'll manage to find an equally-worthy successor.
@GeeGolden - I know we haven't been in contact much, but I have seen that you haven't had as much apathy towards this place, and franchise, as I have. Just like with the Boss, you've managed to make a name for yourself here despite facing issues with them, as well. And I say that's very much commendable of you to do.
@Mosquitosquisher7 - I don't know what to say here (and I don't mean it in a bad way). Your work, both creative and logistical, has clearly shown that, Wiki-wise, you're superior to me in many ways. You're pretty much the person I wish I was, but I unfortunately let my apathy get in the way, leaving multiple small projects dead in the water. Keep up the good work is the least I can tell you as final words.
Well then, a certain pink bubble girl is soon gonna be celebrating her decade of having been titular protagonist for a few months by her lonesome... how about I write something for the occasion? I know my OC hasn't been used in any recent works, either (or any at all, from what you've seen officially), so I think it'd be fitting to let both of them have their share in the spotlight.
I'm not exactly sure how to end this, the post feels a little messy now that I'm proofreading it... oh well, all things considered, know that this isn't really a "farewell", but it's not exactly a "see you soon", either.
- Imbecile, birthday boy (or now "man", to be specific) for a day
TL;DR Today's my 18th birthday. Rovio stinks, so I'm retiring. May or may not do something for Stella series' 10th anniversary, depending on whether or not my lazy butt is in the mood to work for something special.
