Angry Birds: the Attack of The Monster is a picture book released in 2016[1].
Description[]
Something strange is afoot on Piggy Island. Has Matilda been captured by the Piggies?
Summary[]
It's late in the night and The Flock on high alert. They feel like something is wrong, but there's no sign of Pig activity. Matilda decides, since she won't be falling asleep any time soon, to go tend to her garden. The Blues follow her, but soon fall asleep themselves. Matilda notices a strange berry bush that she didn't plant growing in her garden. When she tries one of the berries, she finds the taste to be putrid, and decides to relocate the bush outside of her garden. The Blues are soon woke up by a loud howling noise, and witness Matilda's garden being ravaged by an unknown beast. The three flee, running into Red, Chuck, and Bomb. When they try and explain the situation, the group hear Matilda shriek out, mourning the loss of her plants. She goes to plant more, but is knocked unconscious by a trio of Minion Pigs, who were spying on the birds from a tree.
The Minions take Matilda back to pig city, where King Pig plans to ransom her back to the birds in exchange for The Eggs. Chef Pig advises that he waits, making the birds more worried and willing to negotiate. As predicted, the birds become very worried when Matilda disappears. They're unable to find her, suspecting that the monster they saw took her. Bomb manages to find a clue to here whereabouts, being her seed bag on the ground. The birds first assume that the monster attacked Matilda, but Chuck soon discovers snout prints at the scene of the crime, and the birds realized what actually happened. At the same time, King Pig and his Minions discover that Matilda is gone from the dungeon, and in her place is the unidentified monster. The pigs soon barricade the monster behind the dungeon door, but it breaks free and begins brutalizing the pigs. The birds arrive just in time to see all the commotion, and the monster soon begins chasing after them.
The birds arrive back at the nest, where Red was staying, being chased by the monster. The Blues lead the monster into a pit, where it becomes trapped. After a group of clouds cover the moon, the monster reverts into Matilda. She explains that her transformation was caused by the berry she ate, and says that the effects will ware off after a while. Back at the ruins of Pig Palace, King Pig demands a snack, still being bitter over not having any eggs to eat. Chef Pig is unable to find anything in the rubble, but soon stumbles across the berries from before. He tries one out, and finds the taste to be delicious. He picks the berries, and heads back to King Pig with them.
