Not to be confused with Angry Birds Islands, Angry Birds: Bird Island, or the released game of the same name
Angry Birds Island (known earlier in development as Angry Birds Hatchery, crossed out in the splash screen; better known stylized as Angry Birds Hatchery Island) is an unreleased game created by Rovio sometime before November 2011, although the only build of it that is known to exist is from January 2012, the November 2011 date was determined by leftovers of it in Angry Birds Sync.[1] The game was brought to light during the TestFlight Teraleak from December 17, 2023.[2][3]
Gameplay[]
The game is built on the 2.0.0 update of Angry Birds HD. This game includes a new mode called "hatchery". In this mode, the player can create their own birds on a personal island, with the planned ability to use them in levels, but that doesn't actually work here.

Trivia[]
- How Mighty Eagle is activated in this game is different from the other games: an outlined silhouette of him is seen on the left of the bird selection. Tapping on it makes the birds disappear and the sardines appear on the slingshot.
- Four of the extra birds have visual differences in the loading screen:
- Senor Redshank lacks tail feathers.
- Missy Golocrest has strabismus.
- Lady Grant’s crests are slightly different.
- Reporter’s crests are tiny.
- Code for the game reveals that:
- There were meant to be other extra birds in the game, such as “Lemon Chicken”, “Sir Pale Ale”, “Green Broadbill”, and “Sgt. Whitey”.[5]
- Senor Redshank was originally going to be named Tranny Redshank. "Tranny" is a slur used against transgender individuals, which was most likely the reason for the renaming.
- Metadata exists for an older version of it called "AB Hatchery", it's unknown what was different in this build, since it was removed from TestFlight before the archive was taken in 2015, but it would have most likely just been a less finished version of this game, which is already an unfinished product.
- In the files of Angry Birds Sync, there exists leftovers from an older build of this game, featuring sprites for an unused feather currency.
- This game would soon develop into a game called "Stone", a prototype of The Croods.
