Angry Birds Kingdom is an upcoming role-playing game by Rovio Entertainment. The game was soft-launched in select countries starting March 1st, 2023.[1]

History

The game concept was advertised on Facebook on August 12th 2022, however the game's existence was publicly known on August 18th of that same year by Angry Birds fans on Twitter.[2][3] The game would be soft-launched on Android in the Philippines on February 26th 2023[4][5] and a week later in the US.

The playtest was later closed on March 27th of that same year with plans to work on the game in the future.[6] Player data was deleted from the game servers shortly after, with the promise of a promo code (EARLYBIRD) to use when a full version of the game releases.[7] The game was made available again in the same regions on April 11th.

Plot

One day, Red is walking down a forest path when various Minion Pigs come running out of the bushes with Eggs in their hands, which knocks down Red. Getting up annoyed, Red finds two other birds come running after the pigs, saying to him that the Sherriff's men had taken their eggs due to a new egg tax. After hearing this news, Red becomes angrier and starts running after the pigs with a sword in his hand.

After saving the eggs and returning them to their parents, the Village Elder appears and personally thanks Red for saving the family's eggs. He also says that he would offer Red to stay the night in the village, but it has been destroyed by the pigs. This causes Red to be in shock.

Not much is currently known about the game, but is known is that the game has you collecting bird heroes and dragging and dropping them down to fight the enemy pigs in quick wave battles and make them perform special attacks.

Alongside that, the game will feature a village builder, with the description reading:

"CREATE and EXPAND your bird kingdom with rewards earned from battle, upgrade your base, customize your building and much more."[8]

  • The gameplay shown in the early advertisements closely resembles gameplay from another Rovio game called “Darkfire Heroes”.
  • It was the first AB game to use The Blues' real names, Jay, Jim and Jake, rather than using their collective name; The Blues.
