Angry Birds Rush is an endless runner game in the Angry Birds series developed by Dark Matter Gaming. It was first discovered when it replaced the Google Play listing of Angry Birds Journey, under the name Angry Birds Families,[1] and later soft launched for iOS on September 1, 2025. The soft launch received negative reception from fans.
History[]
In July 2025, under the name Angry Birds Families, the game was advertised on Facebook and replaced the listing of Angry Birds Journey on Google Play.[2] Because of this, the game was not actually available to download.
On August 26, 2025, the game was released on the Google Play store in the United States.[3]
In September 2025, the game's soft-launch was announced in Rovio Gaming for iOS and Android devices in the United States, now separate from Journey.
Gameplay[]
Angry Birds Rush is similar to the endless runner genre, albeit with some differences. The player starts by launching a bird from a slingshot. Once launched, the bird can collect coins, bounce off trampolines, or crash into structures housing Minion Pigs. When the bird stops rolling, the slingshot respawns in the player's current position for the bird to be launched again. Afterwards, the player can use their earned coins to purchase buildings to add to their camp. Buildings will sometimes get attacked, requiring the player to enter a minigame to defend it.
