Angry Birds Star Wars II, also spelled as Angry Birds Star Wars 2, is a video game that is part of the Angry Birds series. A prequel of Angry Birds Star Wars, it was developed by Rovio Entertainment and LucasArts, and released in late 2013.

The primary feature of Star Wars II is the ability to side with either the Republic (Bird Side, ) or the Dark Side (Pork Side, ), each with their own sets of playable characters and chapters. The game also features the use of "Telepods", plastic stands that enable players to import special character toys into the game, which the character then be used in-game.

At the Pork Federation Spaceship, Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi Wan Kenobi quickly escape to Naboo, where they fight their way through. There, they are outnumbered by a gigantic army of Battle Droids. Fortunately however, Yoda comes in and helps them. Defeating most of the Battle Droids, the trio save Padmé Amidala, Captain Panaka, and Jar Jar Binks, who were captured by the Pork Side. However, they are soon attacked by the remaining Battle Droids and escape.
The game had got shutdown, just like Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Star Wars, meaning microtransactions and advertisements don't appear anymore.

  +
Meanwhile, at the Pork Federation Spaceship, Darth Sidious and Jango Fett notice that the heroes escaped from Naboo, and Sidious sends Jango and some Battle Droids to go after them. Sidious is pleased at how they managed to damage their ship and send them to Tatooine. There, the heroes set to repair the ship. With the Pork Side still hot on their heels, they meet Anakin Skywalker, a young mechanic, who is seen repairing his podracer. They manage to defeat Sebulba Pig and escape from the planet. However, they are attacked by Darth Maul, though they still manage to escape.

Returning back to Naboo, the heroes prepare to defeat the last hordes of Battle Droids. Meanwhile, Darth Maul witnesses them returning to the planet, and starts to attack the guards with the help of Zam Wesell. While the other heroes successfully manage to destroy the Pork Federation Spaceship and save Naboo, Qui-Gon and Kenobi have a fight against Maul on the planet, which costed Qui-Gon's life. Kenobi starts to regret his ally's death as Maul leaves laughing maniacally.
Gameplay
Just like its predecessor, it's a slingshot game, however, the slingshot is always a lightsaber and the game takes place before the first one, so the birds are different. The physics are also changed a bit.

There are 20 levels for each story episode and side until Revenge of the Pork or the bonus levels. Which instead of a normal selection menu, it's set on a map.

  +
Many years later, Anakin has a romantic relationship with Padmé. At Coruscant, Kenobi discovers Zam Wesell and her allies attacking the planet, so he and co. prepare to defeat her. The heroes are also supported by some Clone Troopers, who are indeed Stormtroppers in disguise, as well as Mace Windu and some Jedi Younglings. After defeating Wesell, Obi Wan sees Jango and Boba Fett escape to Kamino, and tries to fight them with the help of some Clone Fighters. Despite his best efforts however, Kenobi is defeated and thrown at the waters of Kamino, watching Jango and Boba leave believing that he is dead.

  +
Some time after, Obi Wan reports to Anakin and Padme that he has followed Jango and Boba to Geonosis, and they meet each other on the planet, only to be caught by Jango Fett, Nute Gunray, Count Dooku and some Battle Droids. A Republic Gunship then arrives, and a disguised Darth Sidious, Kit Fisto, and some Clone Troopers come to help out. Jango has been killed and Boba holds him while a Homing Spider Droid comes. The heroic group fights and defeats Dooku, who retreats. They return back to Coruscant and oversee the production of Clone Troopers, though Yoda begins to suspect that something is not right. Anakin and Obi Wan encounter Count Dooku again, with Anakin killing him. Meanwhile, General Grievous goes to Mustafar.
The strength and weaknesses stay the same, though there are new objects to help with this, for exemple, booma catapults, crystals, etc. The player can start an episode with a bird or a pig, which the not chosen one will be locked until the player get a determined number of stars in the levels.

  +
Later, Obi Wan, Padmé, and Windu, have found out that Darth Sidious and Anakin were planning to kill Obi Wan. Windu tries to kill Anakin, only for him to be killed instead. Anakin then heads to Mustafar, abandoning Obi Wan and a broken-hearted Padme. Sidious then unleashes Order 66, telling the Troopers to kill all the Jedi. The few Jedi remaining escape to Mustafar, and Obi Wan duels Anakin there, knocking him into the lava. Obi Wan and Padmé with two eggs leave the volcanic planet, while Darth Sidious and his army save Anakin and take him to surgery fitting him with a life-support suit and mask. Now a greater part of the Pork Side, Anakin adopts a new identity as Darth Vader.
Instead of eggs replacing the pigs when playing as them, the birds will be the villains (and therefore the targets, according to their side of the story). Just like the first game, there are bosses and they have the following categories:

*Character: A character or more is the main boss of the level, he or they take some hits to defeat.

*Race: The birds need to follow a pig to defeat him in a vehicle, it consists in throwing other vehicles into the boss to take down its vehicle.

*Target: Exclusive to the pigs in Rise Of The Clones, Boba Fett will pilot the Slave 1 and will shoot three lasers into birds that are exposed to its aim.

The points that the characters make will also go to its level, which if complete, it will be unlocked as a level in the Reward Chapter, a level that only the character will appear to defeat the enemies. The player can also buy some to help with the level, they are stated below.

Some time after, on Lothal, Kanan Harrus and Hera Syndulla attack Cikatro Vizago, who is talking to Agent Kallus about the heroes. Vizago, Kallus and an army of Stormtroppers then attack Kanan and Hera, though the former uses his lightsaber to defend himself and his friend. In response, Kallus sends some AT-DP Pilots to go after them. The villains soon after have a fight against Kanan. Later, an injured Kallus talks to The Inquisitor through an hologram and tasks him with killing Kanan.

From the first game
  +
Angry Birds Star Wars II is a puzzle video game with similar gameplay to that from previous Angry Birds games. In the game, the player takes control of a limited group of playable characters, who can be launched anywhere by the use of a slingshot. All levels have a series of enemies the player must take down by the use of their characters. These enemies normally appear sheltered inside of structures made of wood, glass, and/or metal, in addition of some additional objects, such as chains and TNT. If the player fails to kill all the enemies in the levels, they will get a Level Failed screen, encouraging them to try again. If they manage to do so however, they will win and pass to the next level. Upon completing each level, the player will receive one, two, or three stars depending on the score received.
*Red as Luke Skywalker (Jedi, Pilot)

*Stella as Princess Leia

*Chuck as Han Solo (Original, Carbonite)

*King Pig as Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine

*Pig as Boba Fett

*Pig as TIE Fighter Pilots

*Pig as Scout Troopers

  +
All characters in the game are part of either the Bird or the Pork Side, though they all have similar gameplay styles. In addition, the player may also replace the current character with another one they have in their inventory, granting them more possibilities to beat the levels. However, these additional characters are limited and the player will be unable to use them if they run out of them. To compensate this however, the player will be able to spend Credits in the shop to get more characters to play with.

Angry Birds Star Wars II has a total of 362 levels. In each episode, there are two sides: Bird Side () and Pork Side (). In the first episode, you have to play as bird side () before pork (). But the other ones, you can choose a side to play and collect more enough stars for each episode to play another side.

Shop
*Bomb and Chuck are colored brown to show that the actors in real life are African-American. The same thing goes to Lando Calrissian from the first game.

  +
The shop is where the player can buy new characters to use in the levels.
* Currently, this is the first and only Angry Birds game that allows Pigs to directly combat Birds, as, in the original Angry Birds, they fought eggs in the bonus King Pig levels, and in Bad Piggies, they were forced to defend from and evade the Birds.

* Rune Haako is the pilot of the Federation's ship but in the movie it is Daultay Dofine.

*This is the first Angry Birds game to not use the original character's designs as a base to make the new characters. For example, Red looks exactly the same in the original, Rio, and Seasons, and in Space, he just gets a mask. However, in this game, his design is completely different, in fact, he seems to use his Toons sprite, along with the Jedi Younglings and the Emperor. Bomb is also displayed with a different design on his beak, also similar to Toons.

*In the game, the Battle Droids are Green-Yellow, but its telepod figure is white.

* In the game, Chewbacca's belt is on the right, but its telepod figure belt is on the left.

* This is the first game that Red is not the first playable Bird. Instead, Matilda is, and Red is fifth to appear.

* As in the previous game, enemy pigs (or birds) can be killed by tapping them on the level selection screen.

* According to the back of the Telepods box, it said that you can unlock 2 characters in the app.

* This game has DK readers books based on the story of the game.

* The Red Battle Pig's power is the same as Lando Bird in the first game.

* Telepods cannot be used in the PC version and credits cannot be purchased. Instead, the player gets credits for starting each level. Lando Bird and the Rebel Birds are the only birds in Angry Birds Star Wars to not reappear in its sequel. But Lando Bird is replaced by red battle droids in V.1.1.0. and the Rebel Birds briefly appear in a Telepods Trailer.

* It is quite curious that one can play as characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader as this interferes with continuity in the storyline (for example, Luke wasn't born until Episode 3. Darth Vader is playable in Episode 1's levels before Anakin becomes a Sith.)

* The playable Battle Pig is completely golden, but the non-playable version has some part showing the skin, the snout, and ears.

* There were 32 characters in v1.0.2 but in v1.7.1 now there are 56 characters with 12 added characters in the latest update.

* Nute Gunray does not appear on Mustafar.

* This and the original Angry Birds Star Wars are the only two games where the title splash precedes the Rovio logo. They are also the only two games to have skippable logos.

* This is the second game not to feature Bubbles, and the third one not to feature Hal and the fourth one not to feature Silver

** It's possible that Hal takes the role of Yoda, as both are green, have white bellies, have long beaks, spin, and have similar voices.

** Jar Jar Binks is similar to Bubbles, as both are orange, have long yellow beaks and are 'funny'.

Angry Birds Star Wars II, also spelled as Angry Birds Star Wars 2, is a video game that is part of the Angry Birds series. A prequel of Angry Birds Star Wars, it was developed by Rovio Entertainment and LucasArts, and released in late 2013.

The primary feature of Angry Birds Star Wars II is the ability to side with either the Bird or the Pork Side, each with their own sets of playable characters and chapters.[1] The game also features the use of "Telepods", plastic stands that enable players to import special character toys into the game, which the character then be used in-game.[2]

Plot

At the Pork Federation Spaceship, Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi Wan Kenobi quickly escape to Naboo, where they fight their way through. There, they are outnumbered by a gigantic army of Battle Droids. Fortunately however, Yoda comes in and helps them. Defeating most of the Battle Droids, the trio save Padmé Amidala, Captain Panaka, and Jar Jar Binks, who were captured by the Pork Side. However, they are soon attacked by the remaining Battle Droids and escape.

Mace Windu and the Jedi Younglings coming to help their allies at Coruscant.

Agent Kallus, some Stormtroppers and some AT-DP Pilots attacking Kanan and Hera.

In the meantime, in other region of Lothal, Ezra Bridget infiltrates one of the Pork Side's bases and attacks the Stormtroopers there. He soon after gets cornered by the army, until he is later saved by Sabine Wren. They are also aided by Hera Syndulla. The trio later fights against The Inquisitor and defeats him, leaving Lothal afterwards as an enraged Kallus curses them from behind.

Gameplay
