Administrators are users who have access to special pages, functions, and abilities. Bureaucrats have the ability to give users certain privileges, and can make other users administrators, chatmoderators, and rollbackers.

Administrators are trusted editors, equipped with the tools to keep the wiki running smoothly. They can issue blocks to troublesome editors, revert vandalism using the rollback tool, and delete and move pages. They are authorized to use the tools at their disposal to deal with issues facing the wiki to the best of their ability.

Administrators will have this on their userpage:

Bomb copy This user is an Administrator of Angry Birds Wiki.

Bureaucrats will have this on their userpage:

Mighty Eagle This user is a Bureaucrat of Angry Birds Wiki.

Administrator/Sysop abilities

These additional functions include:

  • Deleting and undeleting pages, page histories, and uploaded files.
  • Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without admin rights or autoconfirmed status.
  • Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits.
  • Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins.

Bureaucrats are senior editors. As well as being full Administrators, they have management abilities where they can grant limited user rights. Demotion of Bureaucrats is not done without a community discussion, unless absolutely necessary.

Becoming an administrator

For you to become an administrator, someone with bureaucrat access must make you one. On the Angry Birds Wiki, you can request adminship by asking an active bureaucrat via their talk page. However, not just anyone can be an administrator. Users who are trusted here and have had the most experience editing here may request adminship if there aren't many active staff members.

If there are no active bureaucrats, but there is an active community, use the "Requests for adminship" page or start a blog post titled "Nominations for Adminship" to nominate users to become admins or bureaucrats. Once a community decision has been reached please leave a message at the wiki adoption requests page and Wikia Staff can provide the rights.

If there is no active community and no active bureaucrats, please leave a message at wiki adoption requests page.

What can administrators not do?

Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community.

The admin should also refrain from affiliating with other Wikis unless every admin is with the idea.
