Black Pearls are a currency in Angry Birds 2 that can be used to purchase Hats from the Hat Shop in the game and upgrade hat sets within the Mighty hat rarity for the main birds once they are purchased from the Mighty Eagle's Shop using Mighty Eagle Coins. The amount of Black Pearls that can be earned can be doubled if a Black Pearl Party event is occurring for the duration of the event.

- On February 12, 2024, the black pearl chest was temporarily removed for all players due to “unintended behavior” where users could open the chest multiple times before the 24 hour mark has concluded.[1][2] This glitch could lead to an automatic ban from the game.[3] The chest was later brought back in version 3.20.[4]
- It was replaced with the Black Pearl Whirl, a system similar to the Wonder Whirl, but only awards black pearls.
