- "Excellent. You boys make me proud. In fact, I'm so proud that I'm going to show you something. This is what we're fighting for, boys. This is what makes all the hard work, all of the eating and the napping, all of it worthwhile. These are the eggs we've stolen from the Angry Birds! These are the eggs our king will eat at the big feast tomorrow, all of it made possible by minions like you. Now hit the showers and get some rest, boys! Tomorrow's the big day!"
- — Corporal Pig, Angry Birds Comics Issue 4 (The Green Rookie story)
Corporal Pig (also known as Helmet Pig, or Corporal for short) is a Medium Pig and the secondary antagonist in Rovio's Angry Birds. He wears a stone (or maybe metal in the new design) helmet for stronger defense. It is the third strongest pig variety in the game, and serves as the chief enemy in the first set of levels in each theme. It also serves as a protector to King Pig. Corporal Pigs are very much alike to Foreman Pigs in game ways, not actual looks but in strength. They serve as bosses: Herr Helmet (Poached Eggs), Hovering Helmet (Danger Above), Hardhat Hidalgo (The Big Setup), Billy the Pig (Ham 'Em High) and Cave Explorer (Mine and Dine).
History[]
Originally, Corporal Pig was a round medium-sized pig with lime skin. He wore a gray helmet with two brown belts on the sides, that covered most of his head. In Angry Birds Chrome, his design was updated to have larger eyes. This design would be also used in future updates of the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds Friends before 2020, the levels of Angry Birds Trilogy, and in Angry Birds Epic. In the cutscenes of Angry Birds Trilogy and the first few episodes of Angry Birds Toons before "Thunder Chuck", Corporal Pig used a similar design, though his skin was slightly darker and his eyes were smaller, just like in his earliest design.
From "Dopeys on a Rope" onwards, Corporal Pig received a completely different design. His skin is now green-colored, much darker than before, and his eyes cannot be seen due to his helmet covering them. The helmet is now slightly damaged, and has a brown belt across it with a card on it.
Birdsonality Test Description[]
"The Corporal Pig is a headstrong. He is outspoken, confident and practical. He like stability and tradition — if it isn't broken, why fix it? He wears his heart on his sleeve and enjoys being in charge".
Strategy[]
- One shouldn't overestimate the power of the Corporal Pig's helmet. Even though the helmet is stone, it is weak. Red can defeat a Corporal Pig in just one hit.
- Using Jay, Jake and Jim also works, but one should make sure to split them into three before making contact.
- Any bird can defeat Corporal Pig. However, a single Jay will not work as effectively.
- Wood that falls on him can pop him, but it requires more wood. Stone structures that fall on him can pop him instantly. One block that shouldn't be used is ice. Ice is weak, and will not work on Corporal Pigs.
Game appearances[]
Angry Birds[]
Corporal Pig makes his debut in Poached Eggs 1-21 in the original Angry Birds. He also appears as an enemy in some of the following levels of the game, sometimes in mass. Just like the other pigs in the game, Corporal Pig must be popped to complete the levels. He appears to be much tougher than the normal Minion Pig, mainly due to his helmet protecting him from damage. However, he can be defeated quite easily. Popping Corporal Pig will grant the player 5.000 points.
Angry Birds Seasons[]
In Angry Birds Seasons, Corporal Pig appears as an enemy in all the episodes of the game. While he keeps his earliest appearance in the levels, the map of Power-Up Test Site features him in his Angry Birds Trilogy design, and the video tutorial for the Telebird in the second level of Power-Up Test Site has him in his second design from Angry Birds Toons.
In gameplay, Corporal Pig is commonly featured in most levels. As with the original Angry Birds, he is tougher than the normal Minion Pig due to his helmet. He will also sink in the water if he falls into it. Popping Corporal Pig will grant the player 5.000 points.
Angry Birds Friends[]
In Angry Birds Friends, Corporal Pig is featured as a common enemy that appears in both tournaments and the Piggy Tower. While he originally had his design from Angry Birds Chrome, his appearance was updated in 2020. As with past games, Corporal Pig is more resistant to attacks. Popping Corporal Pig will grant the player 5.000 points.
Angry Birds Go![]
In Angry Birds Go!, Corporal Pig is featured as a boss in the second circuit of Stunt, and the twelfth of the game overall. For the first time in a game, he has his design from "Dopeys on a Rope". When the player fights against him, Corporal Pig will be driving the Dragster Snout L6 (or the Iron Swine L3 in 1.0). To unlock him, the player has to beat him once, or three times in the 1.0.0 version.
In gameplay, Corporal Pig has the same gameplay as other characters. His ability is to have three helmets around him to protect him. When an opponent touches one of said helmets, they will spin around and be stunned temporally. However, said helmet will be lost. The ability can be used for free in a race, though only the first time, while the second time onwards require gems to perform the move.
Angry Birds Epic[]
In Angry Birds Epic, Corporal Pig is a Common Pig with the name of Corporal. Unlike most modern appearances, he used his design from Angry Birds Trilogy and the first few Angry Birds Toons appearances. He uses a large, red and white lollipop as a weapon. In gameplay, the Corporal appears as an enemy in the Golden Fields, the Pumpkin Plateau, Pig City, the Old Nesting Barrows, and the Chronicle Cave. He can use the Pummel to attack an enemy, and the Lick after two turns to heal himself.
Angry Birds 2[]
Corporal Pig appeared in Angry Birds 2 as one of the many special pigs that appears in every level within the game.
Angry Birds Blast![]
In Angry Birds Blast!, Corporal Pig is featured as an enemy that commonly appears in mass. In this game, he uses his design from "Dopeys on a Rope", and is seen driving an UFO.
Angry Birds Reloaded[]
In Angry Birds Reloaded, Corporal Pig is featured as a common enemy that appears in the game. He has a design similar to his appearance from Angry Birds Friends. As with past games, Corporal Pig is more resistant to attacks. Popping Corporal Pig will grant the player 5.000 points.
Animated Appearances[]
Angry Birds Toons[]
Corporal Pig is featured as one of the main antagonists in the Angry Birds Toons series and he makes multiple appearances in many of the episodes, sometimes the subject on his own such as Not Without my Helmet. The series shows more depth to the Corporal Pig as a character and his interests other than what the games have shown us. His design was changed in Dopeys on a Rope though he had a more game accurate design in the earlier episodes.
Piggy Tales[]
Corporal Pig made a cameo in the Piggy Tales series in one episode but he didn't make a physical cameo and it was a voice only cameo.

Angry Birds: Stella and the Hunt for the Jade Egg[]
A Corporal Pig is only mentioned once. When Stella and Bubbles are trying to sneak through Pig City, a Minion Pig notices something off about them, threatening to bring them to the Corporal for interrogation. The pair flee before this threat can be fulfilled, and thusly the Corporal is never seen.
Angry Birds: The Attack of The Monster[]
While never appearing directly, Corporal Pig does receive a character description.
Angry Birds: The Tale of a Featherless Friend[]
When an especially uncooperative Minion Pig is getting chastised by King Pig, a Corporal shows him a picture of an egg and asks him what it makes him feel, When the Minion says it makes him feel nothing, King Pig orders him to be banished using a catapult. The Corporal Pig present is amazed by the sight, despite having seen it several times before.

Trivia[]
- The Corporal Pig plush is the only Pig that is all beaten up and in his defeated face.
- In new animations, like Wreck the Halls and Ham'o'ween, the belts can be seen wrapped around the helmets of the Corporal Pigs.
- As shown in the Ham'o'ween and Wreck the Halls animations, the Corporal Pigs hold giant butter-knives and forks. It is possible that these giant pieces of silverware and kitchen utensils are weapons of choice for the Corporal Pigs in the animations.
- The Corporal Pig also holds chopsticks in the Year of the Dragon animation. It's a possibility that it is a weapon of choice for the Corporal Pigs in China because the Corporal Pig used them to make the audience of Bad Piggies applause during the puppet show.
- In the Year of the Dragon animation, the helmet of the Corporal Pig is different. It has a different shape, gold bearing at the bottom, no buckle, and a feather on top of the helmet.
- One of the Corporal Pigs appears as a teacher in the "Meet the Pink Bird" animation. He reveals in his plan written on his chalkboard that after he gives King Pig the eggs, King Pig gives him a medal for succeeding his plan. Because when the pigs are shown injured, and Corporal has the Spades card as mentioned above, it can only be the REAL Corporal Pig (also mentioned above).
- Sometimes, in Angry Birds Toons, the Corporal Pig has a short temper and can get angry a bit easily. A few examples are from when he got covered in mud by the King Pig by accident in "Where's My Crown?", and when the Birthday Minion Pig accidentally blew his noisemaker into the Corporal Pig's nostril when the Corporal Pig is yelling to the Minion Pig and frightening him in "Another Birthday", resulting the noisemaker incident. He can also be seen yelling out to call the Minion Pigs, as seen in the episode "Another Birthday".
- In a Mighty Eagle picture, where Foreman Pig and a Large Pig are scared because of Mighty Eagle coming, Corporal Pig is seen running off, leaving his helmet behind.
- Corporal Pig's helmet has a fuse and is black in King Pig Mode, and can turn red when about to explode, just like Bomb .
- Corporal Pig and Flippy from the Happy Tree Friends series are similar, because they are green, they are soldiers and they wear a type of hat.
