- This article is about Dr. Frankenswine from Angry Birds Friends. For the original Scientist Pig mentioned in Angry Birds Fight!, see Chef Pig. For the Pig from Angry Birds: Isle of Pigs, see Dr. Frankenswine (Isle of Pigs).
- "Mad experiments don't just happen - it takes work and planning, you know!"
- — Dr. Frankenswine, Angry Birds Magazine #0
Dr. Frankenswine is a mad scientist that works for the Piggy kingdom. He makes his first appearance in Angry Birds Friends' 2012 Halloween Tournament as a part of a scary story The Blues are telling, but he is confirmed to be a real pig in future appearances.
Appearance[]
He is a pig that bares a striking resemblance to both Foreman Pig and Dr. Pig. he has spikey white hair, a white mustache, and yellow goggles that strap around his face. He has a full set of hair in Angry Birds Friends, but is noticeably balding in his comic depiction. His ears are also inconsistent, with them being cemeterial in Friends, and being grouped on one side of his head in the comics (Which side they're on changes from panel to panel).
His zombie form has the same basic shape and layout, but with minor alterations. His skin goes from lime green to pastel purple, he loses his goggles, forming saturated bags beneath his eyes, and his pupils turn from pitch black to a light grey.
Personality[]
As with most pigs on Piggy Island with above average intelligence, Frankenswine tends to get a big head over his superior intellect. On the rare occasion his experiments succeed, he goes on longwinded rants about how glorious he is. As to be expected from a mad scientist, he's also reckless and the slightest bit insane. He throws together pieces of pig carcasses for fun, and attempts to animate and control them despite having no idea what they will do once brought to life. He's also shown to be very detached from his emotions, never showing any strong feelings unless he's gloating about how great he is. Even when being chased by his rouge monster, he doesn't show much emotion.
Game Appearances[]
Angry Birds Friends[]
Dr. Frankenswine appears in the 2012 Halloween Tournament of the game. In the story that The Blues tell, Frankenswine is responsible for a giant monster. The Blues then later mistake Terence for the monster and run away.
In gameplay, he appears in the final level of the tournament. His attributes are identical to a Foreman Pig, except for his functions after being popped. Once defeated, he rises from the ground as a Zombie Pig and must be popped a second time.
Media Appearances[]
Night Of The Living Zigs[]
In this 2013 comic, Frankenswine convinces a Corporal Pig to let him use The Castle's electricity to bring a monster he built out of dead pigs to life. This attempt to bring the creature to life fails, but in the process it brings to life a graveyard full of Zombie Pigs, who go after the eggs. Frankenswine initially deems this an accidental success, but is forced to put them down when they begin trying to eat the eggs they stole. When he destroys the Zigs with the power machine, it ends up bringing to life the abomination he originally intended to awaken. Unfortunately for Frankenswine, the Corporal, and everyone else in the palace, the monster is cannibalistic, and the story ends with all the pigs running for their lives from the monster. Everyone's fate, including Frankenswine's, is left ambiguous.
Angry Birds Magazine #0[]
The magazine features King Pig, for unknown reasons, commissioning Frankenswine to make a Zig army. Around the same time, King Pig also steals all the candy on Piggy Island, causing Bubbles and the rest of the flock to invade the the King's castle. Unfortunately for all involved, Frankenswine loses control of the undead hoard. Now the pigs have to contend with the army of unruly Zombie Pigs whilst also under bombardment from the birds.
Later pages feature Frankenswine in his zombified form, implying he didn't survive the chaos.
Relationships[]
Zombie Pigs[]
Every appearance of Frankenswine attributes him to the Zig outbreak. While their future appearances attribute their creation to several different causes, the mad doctor was the first to give rise to the Zigs. Despite his role in their creation, the Zigs don't obey Frankenswine. In both the comics and the magazines, Frankenswine tends to lose control of the hoard soon after their creation. His non-Zig creations also tend to follow this behavior.
King Pig[]
the King Pig's relationship to Frankenswine is seldom seen. The opening text of Angry Birds Magazine #0 implies that he commissioned Frankenswine to create the Zigs, but it's never confirmed. After the Zigs raid the King's palace and force him to flee, it can be assumed that King Pig's opinion of Frankenswine isn't very high.
Corporal Pig[]
Corporal Pig gets used by Frankenswine to gain access to Pig Palace's power supply. The Corporal Pig remains passive to Frankenswine's plan until the Zigs begin trying to eat the King's eggs, where he orders him to take out the Zigs. It can be assumed that Corporals are above Frankenswine in rank, as the Corporal Pig gives Frankenswine orders, and apparently has the authority to give him access to the castle's power.
The Flock[]
Even though The Flock finds themselves fighting Zombie Pigs surprisingly often, they never actually interact with Frankenswine himself (The closest they get is Red being in the same room as him). The birds at least know of his existence, as The Blues tell horror stories about him on Halloween, implying that the birds may fear him in some respect.

Trivia[]
- At the end of all of Frankenswine's appearances, his fate is either left ambiguous, or he's turned into a Zig. It's possible that the reason he stopped appearing is because he's considered canonically dead.
- This itself is a possible reference to Frankenswine's namesake, Dr. Frankenstein, who also died at the end of the original Mary Shelley book.
- Frankenswine shares many traits with Dr. Pig. in addition to their appearances, they're both mad scientists who specialize in creating abominations.
