Drill Bird (also known as Humming Bird in birds.lua code) is an unused bird planned to be in Angry Birds Space. They were first discovered in the Angry Birds Space 1.0.0 prototype in an unused sprite sheet.

Appearance

Drill Bird is a blue-gray, toucan-esque bird with a large, pointy beak covered in orange stripes to allude to the appearance of a drill point. They have no visible head feathers, presumably being obscured by their large eyebrow and two, sharp tail feathers that curl up. The feathers on their belly are colored selago, and they have a darker blue-grey spot under their eye.

Ability

Drill Bird's ability is to accelerate forward and drills into blocks.

Trivia

• Fans have pointed out how there is a close resemblance between them and Hal. As they both have long, large beaks and one eye visible from the perspective they're usually seen at, even initially being mistaken for the Space variation of the latter.
• In the prototype Drill Bird was found in, he uses the same sound effects as Chuck.
