- This article is about the egg from Angry Birds Mystery Island. For other uses, see Egg (disambiguation).
Egg[2] is an egg found by The Egg-Splorers in Angry Birds Mystery Island, and serves as a tertiary character and plot device throughout the series.
Appearance[]
Like most eggs, Egg is a white and oval-like, with small cracks on his top. He also has a rock-like formation at his base that spreads upwards.
Personality[]
Despite not being born, Egg is hyperactive and lively. He will occasionally begin hopping around and wandering about[2]. In spite of this, he's commonly still, especially when being held or talked to by others.[3]
Animated appearances[]
Angry Birds Mystery Island[]
The Egg-splorers[]
The group are first introduced to Egg while collecting Cocoanuts. Rosie finds him lying unattended in some bushes, and decides to take him in. The group briefly discuss what to do with Egg, before deciding to venture into the forest to find his parents. Buddy is put in charge of the group's expedition, but proves to be overly incompetent to the point of putting himself in danger several times. Mia eventually becomes fed up, leading to an outburst that knocks Egg out of Rosie's satchel, causing him to fall down a slope.
The group chase after him, and almost get thrown over a waterfall. Buddy is able to bail them out, but the group still ends up lost. Suddenly, Egg begins hopping, leading the group home. The Egg-Splorers interpret this as Egg choosing them as his family, and decide to keep him.
The Worm Turns[]
When the Egg-Splorers decide to build a raft to escape the island, they opt to bring Egg with them. Rosie equips him with a cocoanut helmet and sits him in a satchel on her back. When the group is attacked by Wormzinger, Egg is miraculously unharmed, even when flung violently from the shore while boarding the raft.
Phone-y Business[]
After a phone is discovered by Buddy, it changes hands multiple times before Rosie gives it to Hamylton after she becomes obsessed. Hamylton soon becomes entranced by the phone and dresses both himself up to audition for the Nestflix show "Crab Games", using Egg to prop up the camera. The group reconvene, decides that they've been waiting the phones battery, and record an SOS message to post online. Egg is in the video with the group, and accompanies them when they accidentally fling themselves across the island trying to send it.
Truffled Feathers[]
Becoming dejected from losing a cook-off, Mia takes Egg with her to a comedically pathetic party on the beach. When she discovers the chocolate truffles Hamylton used in the cook-off have addictive properties, she brings Egg along with her while attempting to cure her friends. The two are chased up a tree by an army of chocolate-addicted Crabs, but are able to escape by offering them a large quantity of truffles.
On Island Time[]
Egg spends almost all of the episode with Rosie, doing mourning yoga with her on the beach. Like the rest of the Egg-Splorers (except Mia), Egg is blissfully unaware that the group are caught in a time loop. Luckily, the loop is broken when the group bring Mia to a flower patch.
Chums in the Water[]
At the beginning of the episode, Egg is seen plotting an escape route off the island with Mia. When the group meet Finnie and try to use her to escape the island, Egg continues to accompany Mia. He and the others are nearly swept away by a storm, but are saved by Finnie's mother.
Relationships[]
Rosie[]
Having been the one to find Egg, Rosie is arguably the closest to him out of the group. When she first finds him, she drags the group into an escapade in the forest just to get him home[2]. Egg takes part in Rosie's mourning yoga routine[1], and he can often be seen riding in a satchel on her back.
Mia[]
While Mia is very demanding of her already-born friends, she isn't nearly as hard on Egg (Likely due to his lack of ability to contribute without usable limbs). She likes to cart him off from time to time, either to discuss escape plans or just out of loneliness[3].
Hamylton[]
Despite what one may expect from a Pig interacting with an Egg, Hamylton and Egg have a healthy and friendly relationship. While Hamylton initially suggested eating Egg after the group found him[2], he comes to see Egg as another member of the group. He speaks to him regularly[4], and even uses him as a rehearsing partner[5].
Buddy[]
Out of the Egg-Splorers, Egg is alone with Buddy the least. This could be a result of his general incompetence, which makes him a poor fit for babysitting. In spite of their lack of interactions, Buddy still cares for Egg as much as the others.
Trivia[]
- The group name "Egg-splorers" originated from Egg, as the group came up with the name while attempting to find his parents.
