Golden Egg Level 1 is the first of the Golden Egg Levels in Angry Birds. It has 4 Blue Birds with their "corpse" sprite in the maze area. Words highlighted in blue with a line under are defined in the glossary, after "Goal".
In order to get the egg, the player has to unlock Matilda in Theme 2-14. Go to the "?" button on the pause menu. Skip the first four birds until you get to Matilda’s tutorial and click (or tap) the egg she lays.
Difficulty[]
This golden egg level has easy difficulty. However, this can occasionally be based on luck. Sometimes, the beach ball will go out of bounds and not go back (going out of the black line by bouncing), and/or the blue bird not hitting the block which will be impossible to pass, or the red balls bouncing in the wrong places. Overall, this is quite easy as you need to have the blue bird hit the TNT at the bottom and the other actions will do on its own.
Strategy[]
You have two Reds and a Large Pig, Helmet Pig, and a Mustache Pig. You also have four Blue Birds using a corpse sprite. Using only one bird, launch the first Red and aim it at the TNT Crates. It will blow a Blue Bird up in the air and it will hit a wooden triangle (on its right angle) and the small stone will hit the TNT crate and it will be sent up into the air and will hit a beach ball, whereas the other two rocks will hit four red juggling balls. The medium pig is defeated by the time the juggling balls bounce and hit a TNT crate. The Blue Bird will land on the horizontal ice/glass bar. The ball should bounce on the bar a few times and the Blue Bird will hit the middle TNT crate, causing all of the remaining crates to blow up and kill the other pigs. For the unused Red, you will gain +10000 points.

Trivia[]
As of 5.1.0 of Angry Birds and in the Rovio Classics: Angry Birds remake, the level has received a slight redesign: the Blue Bird shoots at the beach ball instead of the wooden triangle, and the TNT crates by Corporal Pig & Foreman Pig are now ignited by a red ball instead of the Blue Bird. The level still can be completed, but due to the new physics, it is far harder and glitchier.
The red ball, the rock ball, and the beach ball are references to the playable characters in one of Rovio Entertainment's old games called Bounce Tales.
