Hamylton (also referred to as Hamy) is a foreign exchange student from Piggy Island who makes his debut in Angry Birds Mystery Island. In the show, he acts as a main character alongside the three Hatchlings. The four work together to survive and escape a mysterious island they find themselves stranded on.

Appearance[]

He is a Pig with braces on his top jaw and two small tusk-like teeth on his bottom jaw. Like Birds, he has a lighter colored belly, and a tuft of hair with fluffy ears. Unlike most Pigs, with their iconic curly tails, Hamylton has a long fluffy tail instead (although he is capable into twisting it into a curly tail^[1]). He also has two dark green marks on the left side of his face, and occasionally wears red seaweed as a ninja headband.

Personality[]

Hamytlon is very outgoing and bombastic, being very easy to please. He's friendly to most, and generally just goes along with whatever everyone else is doing. His skills in hoof-fu are what place him as the closest thing the Egg-Splorers have to the muscle of the group^[4]. Despite his goofy demeanor, he's decently competent in dangerous scenarios. He also has an interest in theatre, and wants to be cast in a production some day^[2]. However, Hamylton's more Pig-like qualities tend to put off others, such as his messy and indiscriminate eating habits^[3].

When Hamylton gets his foot stuck in a paint bucket while in the dump, Rosie, Buddy, and Mia find him while recollecting their homework. The three birds go up to help him, but find that both them and Hamylton are situated on a catapult, and are launched into a purple raincloud. When they awaken, Mia waists no time blaming Hamylton, asking what he was even doing in the trash pit. He explains that it reminds him of home, and has cool things to find like his suddenly dysfunctional watch. Mia starts planning escape with the other two birds, leaving Hamylton by himself.

Hamylton decides to try and prove that he can be helpful, gathering several resources including cocoanuts and red seaweed for food. After an internal debate with himself, an earthquake causes him to accidentally reveal his presence. Mia notices the elasticity of the seaweed, and decides to use it for the catapult she and the others have been trying to build. Feeling guilty for shunning him, she invites Hamylton to help. They eventually complete the catapult. Mia apologizes to Hamylton, but he says that she only pushed him to do better.

After the failed launch of the catapult, the group set up camp. Hamylton proclaims that he's far to excited to fall asleep, and immediately falls unconscious.

Gim(Mia) Shelter[]

When all the other birds are awoken by various weather events, Hamylton is the only one to remain asleep. He's later seen surfing when the group have a beach day, and helps Buddy and Rosie collect parts for the shelter, and seems to be less annoyed with Mia's behavior than the others. When the group reunite with Mia after she and Rosie have a brief argument, the group finish the shelter, complete with a mud pit for Hamylton.

The Egg-splorers[]

Hamylton is first seen using his martial arts abilities to collect cocoanuts for the group. When they discover An Egg in a bush, Hamylton attempts to eat it, disgusting the three birds. When Buddy leads the trip though the jungle to find Egg's family, Hamylton mistakenly puts his complete faith in Buddy's abilities. When Buddy is attacked by a Hippie Flytrap, Hamylton tries and fails to use his martial arts on it. He later apologizes to everyone for believing in Buddy's leadership capabilities.

The Worm Turns[]

While building an escape raft, Hamylton ends up eating all of the red seaweed the group planned to use to bind the raft together, forcing Buddy to go find more. When the group is attacked by Wormzinger, Hamylton is nearly washed away my the sand, and is flung into the ocean when the group depart with the unfinished raft. He's able to make it back to the raft, and paddles back to the island when Buddy goes to distract Wormzinger. Hamylton ultimately saves the group from the monster by lassoing the tire off of its' neck, pacifying it.

Phone-y Business[]

When the group try to create a SOS message, they discover a phone. The phone eventually makes its' way to Hamylton after the other three are unable to pry themselves from the phone's apps. Hamylton falls victim to the phone hiimself, and begins recording an audition for the Nestflix show Krab Games. Once the group finally manage to record a message to send home, they lose signal, but Hamylton is able to get them the signal to send it when he accidentally launches into the air them with a palm tree.

Truffled Feathers[]

While out looking for beads for friendship bracelets Mia needs for her party, Hamylton comes across a chocolate truffle in the sand. When he presents it to Mia, she blows him off, saying that she's the chef. He says that he can cook just as good as her, and the two have a competition, which is judged by Rosie and Buddy. Hamylton manages an improbable victory using his truffle, which proves so addictive that Rosie calls off the party causing Mia to leave.

Unfortunately for Hamylton, the truffle induces a zombie-like state in the two judges, who order him to find more truffles. Mia, having discovered the truffle's drug-like properties herself, finds Hamylton and tells him to find every truffle in the area while she leads both the hatchlings and the island's addicted Crab population around. afterwards, Hamylton lures the birds back to the shelter, where Mia reveals that she gave the Crabs all of the truffles, which snaps Rosie and Buddy out of their trance.

On Island Time[]

After an unproductive day, Mia promises to spend the next getting the group off the island. Hamylton and the others are unconcerned, trying to enjoy their time on the island. Little do they know that Mia ends up in a time loop, with the rest of the group blissfully unaware. When Mia eventually snaps, the group bring her to a flower field, which both cheers her up, and inadvertently frees her from the time loop.

Chums in the Water[]

While Hamylton and Buddy are gathering food for the group, Rosie discovers a way off the island in the form of Finnie. Hamylton believes the creature to be docile, as it's had a chance to attack Rosie, but didn't. The group ultimately decide to build a boat, and have Finnie cart it across the sea. The attempt to escape fails, but the group make it back to shore unharmed, retreating back to their shelter.

Hamytlon only appears as a non-playable character in Angry Birds Dream Blast and one of the guest stars in the Island Season special event, as the promotion of Angry Birds Mystery Island.

Relationships[]

Mia[]

While Mia initially shunned Hamylton for both getting the group stranded on the island and being a pig^[3], Hamylton's drive to help the group eventually won Mia over, and the two became friends. Despite their friendship, however, the two still bicker commonly about insignificant matters.^[5]

Buddy[]

Out of the group, Hamylton is closest with Buddy. The two work together during routine chores, such as collecting food^[4]. Hamylton will trust Buddy's judgement no matter what, which becomes a problem when mixed with Buddy's general incompetence.

Rosie[]

While the two are still friends, Rosie often finds herself exasperated by Hamylton's uncleanliness. His tendency to discard trash on the beach especially gets under her skin^[6]. In spite of this, Hamylton's positive attitude and general agreeability meshes well with Rosie.

Egg[]

Despite initially wanting to eat Egg^[4], Hamylton grows to view Egg as an equal, just like the rest of the group. He converses with Egg regularly, and will even dress Egg up in matching costumes with himself^[2].
