A Hatchery Bird is a minor playable character in Angry Birds Island that can be customized via the Hatchery.[1][2] These custom birds are customizable in their color, shape, size, accessories and height.[1][2]
The Unique Birds, unlike the other Hatchery Birds, can not be customized via the Hatchery and have unique designs.[3] They are the first five Hatchery Birds you start out with in game.[citation needed]

Hatchery Birds can be customized by painting an egg placed within a nest.[1] What is painted on the egg defines the bird's appearance and abilities.[1][2] The color that covers the most surface area defines the body type.[1]
