Hidden Harbor is the thirteenth episode in Angry Birds Rio and the fifth in the Rio 2 section. It was released alongside its predecessor, Timber Tumble, in the 2.2.0 update in July 2014. It initially was a secret chapter, although in later updates it can be unlocked through other means. Hidden Harbor features 15 levels and no Bonus Levels, making it one of the shortest chapters in the game, and is themed around High Dive with elements from Blossom River. It is also the final episode in the PC version of Angry Birds Rio, as the next episode, Treasure Hunt, was exclusively released for mobile.
Aesthetically speaking, Hidden Harbor looks virtually identical to High Dive, being set in a harbor during daytime, although the boats from Blossom River are also featured.
Gameplay[]
Hidden Harbor is the first episode in Angry Birds Rio since Golden Beachball to have both marmosets and Caged Birds as enemies. All levels are centered around water and gimmicks from previous episodes return. However, no new elements are introduced.
At release, Hidden Harbor could only be accessed by getting a "Golden Lock" in Timber Tumble. However, in newer versions, it can also be unlocked through occasional offers in the shop, costing 300 coins, or merely by beating Timber Tumble normally.
The player should use Stella's bubbles to lift the underwater TNT barrel to the main structure, easily destroying it.
2
125,000
The player should launch the first Blue through the water and split him before hitting the horizontal glass pane supporting one of the structures, causing a chain reaction that should destroy all but the bottom left building, which can be taken down by having Red hit the support cardboard box at the bottom left.
3
166,000
Bubbles should be fired through the water and towards the rightmost structure, using his inflation ability to destroy it. Then, Matilda should be lofted between the bottom left building and the top one, dropping her Egg Bomb to the wooden support beam at the right side, sending herself flying to the top structure; both fortresses should be destroyed.
4
201,000
The player should fire the first Red through the cardboard box at the top left of the rightmost building and through the TNT box at its heart to destroy it. Then, Hal should be launched in an upward angle to the left, using his boomerang ability as soon as possible to reach the TNT boxes at the top of the level, causing the stone blocks there to drop down to the remaining structures.
5
176,000
The first Chuck should be launched through the water and towards the TNT barrels at the bottom left of the level, detonating them to cause a chain reaction that should destroy most of the level. The second Chuck can then be used to take down the flying helicopter and any surviving marmosets.
6
187,000
The player should launch the first Terence through the vertical glass panes at the top half of the level, dropping the TNT barrels to the bottom left structure as Terence himself rolls down to destroy the well protected, rightmost building. The second Terence can then take down the remaining buildings.
7
110,000
The first Chuck should be lofted to destroy the wooden box and vertical beam supporting the structure on the right to take it down, while Red should be launched through the water to hit the two TNT boxes at the right of the boat to destroy the building there.
8
168,000
Matilda should be launched over everything so she can drop her Egg Bomb just to the right of the tower at the bottom right; she will bounce off the wall at the far right and eventually hit the TNT boxes at the right of the top building, destroying most of it as well as the structure at the bottom. Then, Bomb should be launched straight towards the support wooden boxes at the bottom left of what remains of the top structure; his explosion will not only destroy that but also destroy the bridge, crushing the marmosets beneath with its debris.
9
180,000
Stella needs to be lofted to the gap between the caged bird and the marmoset at the top right quarter of the level, using her bubbles to lift the stone blocks both are standing on. With some luck, all of the right half of the stage should be destroyed, allowing Bubbles to be launched straight through the left building to take it down as well.
10
166,000
The first Matilda should be launched in an upward angle over everything, dropping her Egg Bomb over the exposed marmoset at the middle of the level and destroying most structures there. Then, the second Matilda should be launched just beneath the top left structure, dropping her Egg Bomb to the angled lifebuoy so it can destroy what remains of the right half of the level as she destroys the top left building.
11
100,000
In this level, all blocks can only move up or down. The first Chuck should be launched, either in an upward angle or through the water, to bounce off the lifebuoys at the far right and hit the switch at the bottom right of the structure, destroying most of the whole building. At minimum, this should leave a row of four cardboard boxes and one wooden one; the second Chuck can fly through this row to destroy what remains of the level.
12
162,000
The first Blue should be fired towards the bottom of the ship, splitting him as soon as possible. One of the Blues should reach the TNT cardboard box at the bottom left of the boat, while the other should reach the two TNT cardboard boxes on the other side. This should destroy most of the main structure. Afterward, the second Blue should be launched in an upward angle to reach the far right TNT boxes and take down what remains of the level.
13
155,000
The first Bomb should be lofted in an upward angle to explode at the bottom left of the middle structure, taking it down alongside the first one. The second Bomb can then destroy the third building.
14
213,000
At the top of the level, there is a moving platform with stone blocks on it. The first Stella should be launched through the water so she can use her bubbles to lift the small TNT box at the middle of the rightmost structure, destroying most of it. Then, once the moving platform approaches the building on the left, Chuck should be launched, also through the water, to reach the switch at the far right to drop the stone blocks and complete the level.
15
189,000
Terence should be launched to the first lifebuoy facing straight up, allowing him to reach a gap at the far right of the level, where he will trigger a chain reaction to destroy most of the main structure. Then, Matilda can be launched underneath the top left building, dropping her Egg Bomb to the angled lifebuoy; the two should bring down what remains of the level.
