Pigbots (also referred to as Robot Pigs) are a transformation that happens when Minion Pigs are shot by the EggBots. Their first and only appearances are in Angry Birds Transformers and serve as the primary antagonists.

Appearance[]

They are your standard Minion Pigs with a metallic white coat and bright blue accents. They have bright red pupils with dark grey rings around their eyes.

Game appearance[]

Angry Birds Transformers[]

These enemies are the most basic and common type of enemies. Most wield laser weapons and will shoot at the player upon sight. Others simply bounce around and/or stare at the player. They can easily be defeated in a few shots or by causing them to fall from great heights by destroying their towers, as mentioned above. Some Pigbots wear helmets, and can withstand more damage. Pigbots' health increases on harder difficulties.

Types of Pigbots[]

Pigbots[]

Happy pigbots

These enemies are not really enemies at all but more of an optional bonus. They are identified by their silver-white frames, happy expressions (unless they are damaged or the tower they are on is collapsing) and constant bouncing. They are unarmed and therefore are not a threat to the player as they cannot deal damage, but it is generally recommended to target them where possible, as popping them will award the player with coins and any popped pigs will add to the popped pig currency counter. It is recommended to deal with more dangerous Pigbots before targeting these.

Pigbot Gunners[]

Pigbots gunners

These enemies are distinguished by their red frames and the angry expression used by all armed Pigbots except for Kamikaze Pigbots and Sharktihogs. Pigbot Gunners carry a laser rifle that fires a single green laser bolt at the player, and have higher health than a Happy Pigbot. The weapon is quite accurate in the hands of a Gunner and can hit players from across the stage, making Pigbot Gunners extremely dangerous on higher difficulties, although a shield will render their rifles useless. Pigbot Gunners, like most regular Pigbots, can be found in all stages.

Blind Pigbots[]

Blind pigbots

These enemies are distinguished by the white box placed over their heads, which is decorated with a crude drawing of a pig's face, and their lolling tongues. Blind Pigbots carry a laser rifle identical to that used by Pigbot Gunners, but unlike Gunners they have terrible aim and most of their shots will miss the player, although they may occasionally get lucky enough to land a hit. Blind Pigbots are actually often helpful to the player, as their shots can hit towers and knock them over, or hit other Pigbots and damage or defeat them. Blind Pigbots are found in all stages, but are most common on beach levels. A Blind Pigbot on average has as much health as a Gunner.

Flying Pigbots[]

Flying pigbots 1

Flying Pigbots appear as regular pigs with a propeller attached to them. Some also wear helmets, giving them more health than those without. Though incredibly weak, they are incredibly dangerous in numbers, especially on harder difficulties. They attack the player with laser weapons. If not defeated within a few seconds, they will self destruct onto the player, causing the player to lose health. They will also self destruct immediately when the player is in vehicle form. This attack can be incredibly dangerous on higher difficulties.

However, on the bright side, these enemies can be defeated with one to two shots (three to four on hard difficulties). Shots from regular Pigbots can also deplete these enemies' health as well and defeat them. Energon EMP Stunners come in handy to take down these enemies when in numbers. Energon Shields are also very effective against numbers of flying Pigbots, especially when using characters who cannot directly attack them, such as Heatwave or Sentinel Prime.

As of the 2015 Halloween Update, flying Pigbots were disguised in Halloween masks, however, their attacks were no different. As of the 2015 Thanksgiving Update, the flying Pigbots play a strong role and are disguised as cooked turkeys. They must be shot at and defeated in order to complete the Thanksgiving Challenge. There are prizes for defeating 10, 100, 500, 1500 and (????) Pigbots disguised as turkeys.

Rocket Pigbots[]

Rocket pigbots

These enemies are distinguished by their white boxy visored helmets. Rocket Pigbots do not carry a laser rifle like most enemy Pigbots, but instead carry a launcher that fires a salvo of three slow-moving rockets decorated with pig faces, which do more damage than the laser rifles wielded by Blind Pigbots and Gunners. Rocket Pigbots are excellent at predicting where the player will be when far away, and if left unchecked they can create a major problem for players by filling the screen with a fusillade of shots. Their rockets, however, can be dodged rather easily by quickly switching to vehicle mode and like all Pigbot weapons cannot pierce a shield. In general, Rocket Pigbots are less of an immediate threat than Gunners and Elites, but can still pose a danger if their rockets get too close. Rocket Pigbots have the highest health of any Pigbot, more so even than the Elites, which makes them somewhat difficult to take out quickly.

Elite Pigbots[]

Elite pigbots

These enemies are similar to Pigbot Gunners but with a larger, helmet-like red frame. Instead of the laser rifle carried by Blind Pigbots, Heli-Pigbots and Gunners, Elite Pigbots carry fast-firing laser shotguns, which fire a spread of four purple laser bolts every few seconds. Although they often have poor aim, Elites are more likely to hit when their shot is slightly off-target because of the increased number of projectiles fired with each blast. Elites deal the most damage out of any Pigbot enemy, which combined with their high fire rate puts them among the most dangerous enemies in the game, able to destroy the player with only a few blasts at higher difficulties. Like Gunners, Elites can target the player from long distances, making them a deadly threat even when not up close. However, Elites are not immune to EMP pulses from destroyed scrambler missiles and the Electroblast Energonicon, and their shotguns are useless against a shield. It is recommended to target Elites before any other Pigbot, as although they have only slightly more health than Gunners, they can still deal devastating damage before being wiped out. The easiest way to defeat an Elite is by destabilizing the tower it is on and getting it to fall to its death, which can be achieved by shooting the tower or using the Boomshake Energonicon to trigger an earthquake, which is devastating to towers. The blast wave caused by summoning a buddy can also achieve this by knocking nearby towers over.

Kamikaze Pigbots aka Falling Pigbots[]

Falling pigbots

These enemies appear as smiling Pigbots attached to balloons wielding two sticks of dynamite. They attempt to slowly float down onto the player and explode, causing the player to lose health if they successfully collide. They are quite durable, however, an easy way to take them down is to shoot their balloon(s), causing them to fall and pop instantly. Electroblast is ineffective against these types of enemies unless the player uses the power-up at the max level (three Energon cubes). These Pigbots do not award coins if they miss the player and hit the ground, a tower or scenery, but hitting the player or a shield will cause them to drop coins. Kamikaze Pigbots are one of only two damage-dealing Pigbot types that smile, the other being Sharktihogs.

Sharkticon Pigbots (Sharktihogs)[]

Sharktihogs

Sharktihogs, as their name implies, are Pigbots in shark suits. You can find them in levels with water at the front, generally levels featuring a river. When underwater, you can only see their dorsal fins, but you can still shoot at them. They resurface and shoot a laser at you, then go back underwater. They will do this until they become completely submerged (Fin not visible) or until they are destroyed. Sharktihogs are one of only two Pigbot types that deal damage and that smile, the other being Kamikaze Pigbots.
