Monoliths are an enemy type in Angry Birds Transformers, created by the EggBots.

Appearance[]

They appear as towering stone towers with carved pig faces and furnace mouths.

Game appearance[]

Angry Birds Transformers[]

Monoliths are a common obstacle that attempt to fall onto and crush the player when they gets near, dealing high damage if they do happen to do so. There are a few ways to avoid Monoliths: Firstly, the most straightforward way to dodge a Monolith is simply by transforming into vehicle mode in order to outspeed it before it hits you. Secondly, if you use a Transformer whose attack has EMP properties, such as Bumblebee (with the Chrome Exhaust accessoiry equipped), or Starscream, you can interrupt a Monolith by directly hitting it.[1] However, Monoliths are uneffected by the Electroblast Energonicon, regardless of how much it's charged up. Thirdly, you can fully block a Monolith by using the Shieldor Energonicon. Not all Monoliths will attempt to fall on players, but most do. Their attack is identifiable with a shake when the player gets near. Inactive Monoliths are additionally always static, while active ones can be seen slamming their hatches and glancing at the player's character from further away. The game will briefly slow down if the player transforms into vehicle mode when a Monolith is about to crush them; there is an achievement for successfully evading this attack a number of times when this happens. Monoliths normally cannot be destroyed, however, if a Monolith depletes all of your health, it will be destroyed in order to allow for Astrotrain to pick you up. Some Monoliths will appear in the background. Those which appear falling in the background will not deal damage to players, this includes Monoliths that are near the path. Some Monoliths may get blocked by enironmental parts in the foreground.
