Peter Vesterbacka (born on March 12, 1968 ), his nickname known as Mighty Eagle, is a Finnish mobile game developer and former CMO of Rovio Entertainment Corporation.

History

Vesterbacka is responsible for the development of the gaming company Rovio Entertainment's business and has been involved in making the popular Angry Birds game. He notably had a feud with Chillingo and stated:

"We only did the first iPad/iPhone integration with Chillingo and aside from that we’ve published everything ourselves. We will not use Chillingo again. "

TIME magazine chose Vesterbacka of 2011, the world's hundred most influential people list.

On June 21, 2016, he decided to leave Rovio Entertainment, and intends to continue its work as an investor and advisor to growing companies.

In September 2016, he announced the start of work educational gaming company, Lightner.

In 2018, he voiced his support for a railway tunnel, which could be added to China's belt and road initiative in Finland.

On April 19, 2023, Peter acknowledged the Rovio acquisition by Sega, with him stating “it’s a reasonably good deal” and that “The [Angry Birds] brand has a lot more potential” with Sega.

Biography

Vesterbacka spent his childhood and youth in Pori, Finland. He graduated from high school Björneborgs Swedish Samskola, after which began marketing studies at Åbo Akademi University. However, studies were interrupted as Vesterbacka moves to work for Hewlett-Packard.
