Piggy Island is the home of the Angry Birds and Bad Piggies. It is also the environment that they live in, and it is the main location. The exact location of Piggy Island is a mystery, but Rovio claims that it has been designed to reflect elements of just about every location in the real world. The creation of Piggy Island was claimed to be a vital step in the expansion of the brand. The games originally gave a small glimpse at the world, but afterwords Piggy Island was revealed just bit by bit. For example, at the end of the Christmas Comic, a small glimpse of Piggy Island is seen. Afterwards, in the Vuela Tazos Advertisement, the birds clearly were on the beach of Piggy Island. Afterwards, more and more was revealed bit by bit.

Overall Appearance

Piggy Island notably has a pig-shaped mountain in its middle, flowing with water. Piggy Island is full of all sorts of vegetation, (trees, cacti, grass, etc.) It has all sorts of land forms, such as plains, plateaus, and mountains. It is inhabited by the birds and pigs, the pigs having their own city/lair. In the distance Mighty Eagle's cave can be seen. It is also likely that the island Piglantis lies near the area. Where the two edges at the front of Piggy Island break up is a circular desert/canyon-like area.

Hog Head Mountain

Hog Head Mountain is the mountain in the middle of Piggy Island that is notably shaped like a Bad Piggy. It is the most notable area in Angry Birds Epic as it is extremely large, or therefore, anyone who sees Piggy Island may think this is most notable. It is technically not a mountain, as water flows down from it. Hog Head Mountain is actually a waterfall. The waterfall leads down into the Mouth Pool, where the Special Spirit Caller is fought there. Bomb tries to control his temper by soaking in the hot springs on Hog Head Mountain.

Cobalt Plateaus

The Cobalt Plateaus is a reoccurring location on Piggy Island. It first appears in Angry Birds Toons often, several episodes such as Fired Up! take place in this location. It was badly burnt by Chuck in this episode when he wanted to warm up the eggs. Instead he made burn marks all over the place, causing havoc for the birds. This is one of the places Red wishes to raise the eggs from the pigs. It appears in Angry Birds Epic with 19 levels in total, excluding the level "Matilda's Garden" and including eastern Cobalt Plateaus. This is where Matilda has a garden, or classified as "White's" Garden in the game. The first levels of Poached Eggs begin here.

Slingshot Woods

Slingshot Woods is first seen in Angry Birds Epic. It goes in several directions, there is West Slingshot Woods, East Slingshot Woods, and Northern Slingshot Woods. There are currently 9 levels, including West, East, and North, in total. The World of Angry Birds Official Guide book tells that only Y-shaped Trees grow there. The trees remind the pigs of the birds' slingshot, so they usually stay away from there. Easter Eggs chapter begins here.

South Beach

South Beach is located opposite of Slingshot Woods. It has only 4 levels. Located after South Beach is the Cobalt Plateaus. Due to the striking resemblance, this must be where the Vuela Tazos Angry Birds advertisement had taken place. This is the new nesting place of The Flock.

Desert Island

Desert Island is a location on Piggy Island that was seen in general but was classified first in Angry Birds Epic. In this game, there is a total of 5 levels on this location. Desert Island is sandy and has cacti growing as vegetation. This is where all Stunt tracks take place in Angry Birds Go!

Star Reef

Star Reef is a coral reef close by to Piggy Island. It only appears in Angry Birds Epic so far, it is unknown why it does not appear in any other pictures of Piggy Island. It has 10 levels, including the Ghost Ship Dungeon. The entire reef is in the shape of a star, hence the name "Star Reef".

Star Reef is notable for being haunted, as it has most types of ghosts and undead pigs, plus a slightly sinister setting. WizPig can be first encountered in Star Reef Castle.

Limestone Lagoon

Limestone Lagoon is a river/lake that spirals around Desert Island. Pirate Pigs roam around there, so be ready to watch out for them.

Bamboo Forest

Bamboo forest is an area where you can get alot of bamboo resources. If you enter the Bamboo Forest, the Ninja Pigs can capture Red, Chuck, and Bomb, then leave you behind with only The Blues and Matilda, making the levels in Angry Birds Epic harder to deal with. You must defeat the Ninja Pigs to save them and beat Bamboo Forest. This place is also the location of the Angry Birds Seasons episode Year of the Dragon, as described in The World of Angry Birds Official Guide book.

Old Nesting Barrows

OldNestingBarrowsMap

Old Nesting Barrows is here.

It is known that this was the original nesting place of the Angry Birds before Angry Birds Toons and Angry Birds Epic. It was later abandoned, and it was taken over by lots of Rogues and a Monty. Currently, it is unknown why the birds moved from the Old Nesting Barrows to the South Beach. These are the following theories:

  • The birds might have been scared by the Sword Spirit.
  • The pigs steal the eggs several times, so this might be the reason why the birds moved to South Beach recently in Toons and Epic.
  • The Old Nesting Barrows is too close to Pig City.

Piglantis

Piglantis is a location near Piggy Island that is also another island. It is unknown why it does not appear in Angry Birds Epic. Piglantis is where the Octopus Pig lives and is also where the Angry Birds Seasons episode Piglantis takes place and the way to piglantis is from the pig city harbor

Bottomless Cave

This cave has a lot of brutes and monster-sized pigs. This is probably where Mine and Dine episode was set. However, the Sunken Pyramid Dungeon could be proof of the existence of Piglantis.

Chronicle Cave

This cave is where Chronicler Pig carves hundreds of dioramas and statues out of the natural green wax that oozes from the rocks inside the cave, according to The World of Angry Birds Official Guide. In Angry Birds Epic, there are lots of levels and all kinds of pigs are here. It's located in the Hog Head Mountain. You need to get 5 eggs in order to open the gate of the cave.

Crown Mountains

The Crown Mountains is located at the east of Piggy Island. This is a perfect place if you want to play with the snow, even in summer. The Crown Mountains then divides into different parts. The Canyon Land is located at the west of the mountains because there are some deep canyons there. Winter Wonderland is located at the foot of the mountains, as a perfect place for building houses and enjoying Christmas in winter. The Snowy Peak is at the top of the mountains, with a castle called Mountain Pig Castle. Finally, the Islands in the Sky is located at the right of the Snowy Peak and it's the way to go down the mountains. The reason why it is called the Crown Mountains because when you look Piggy Island from far away, it looks like a crown for Hog Head Mountain.

Islands in the Sky

Located at the right of the Snowy Peak. In the Official Guide, it is a residence to some of the pigs of Piggy Island. In here, there are also some snow but less than on the Snowy Peak. There is only 3 levels in this location in Angry Birds Epic.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland can be seen in Angry Birds Friends, Seasons, Epic and Go!. It is located after Bamboo Forest and below the Snowy Peak, the Canyon Land and the Islands in the Sky and it has 5 levels in Angry Birds Epic. In Angry Birds Seasons, an episode called Winter Wonderham is based and located in this place.

 Pig City

Pig City is the capital of Piggy Island, and is the official residence of King Pig. Hog Head Mountain, the Chronicle Caves, and the Old Nesting Barrows are located just outside the city limits. In Angry Birds Epic, the King Pig Castle is the final castle in the game, before WizPig creates his own castle at the summit of Hog Head Mountain with the final bird egg.
