- — Darth Sidious, Angry Birds Star Wars II
The Pork Side, also known as the Dark Side and also spelled as the pork side,[1] is a group that appears in the Angry Birds Star Wars series. It was an organization led by Darth Sidious. Founded long before the events of Angry Birds Star Wars II, the Pork Side had tried several times to conquer the galaxy and steal all sweets and junk food.[2] However, its plans were thwarted by its main enemy, the Bird Side.
History[]
Angry Birds Star Wars series[]
Past[]
The Pork Side was founded some time before the events of Angry Birds Star Wars II. Perhaps one of its earliest actions involved founding the Pork Federation and building the Pork Federation Spaceship to rule Naboo.[3] The Federation also kidnapped Jar Jar Binks, Captain Panaka, and Padmé Amidala.
Angry Birds Star Wars II[]
In Angry Birds Star Wars II, the Pork Federation Spaceship was attacked by the Bird Rebels Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, the hordes of Battle Droids aboard the vessel forced them to escape to Naboo, where they defeated some hordes of Battle Droids with the help of Yoda and freed Jar Jar Binks, Captain Panaka, and Padmé Amidala. However, the remaining hordes of Battle Droids forced them to escape. Meanwhile, aware of this, Darth Sidious and Jango Fett sent some Battle Droids to attack the Bird Rebels' ship. The Pork Side managed to damage the ship to send the heroes to Tatooine, leaving Sidious satisfied.
However, it soon turned out that the Bird Rebels had survived, much for Sidious' frustration. In response, he sent Darth Maul and Count Dooku to kill the heroes, which was in vain, as, with the help of the podracer Anakin Skywalker, the Bird Rebels managed to fix their ship and leave Tatooine. Knowing that they would be heading to Naboo, the Pork Side went back to the planet, where the heroes were fighting against the remaining hordes of Battle Droids. While the Rebels managed to destroy the Pork Federation Spaceship and free Naboo, Maul managed to kill Qui-Gon Jinn during a lightsaber duel against him and Kenobi.
Years later, Darth Sidious plotted a plan to weaken the Bird Side, which would allow the Pork Side to conquer the entire galaxy with little to no opposition. On Coruscant, Sidious sent Zam Wesell and some Battle Droids to attack the Bird Rebels, while he and some Clone Troopers disguised themselves as birds to help the heroes defeat Wesell and gain their trust. After Zam was defeated, Kenobi was lured by Jango and Boba Fett to Kamino, where they managed to throw him at the waters of the planet. However, the pigs were unaware of the fact that Kenobi had actually survived this incident.
Some time later, on Geonosis, some members of the Pork Side attacked the Bird Rebels, though the heroes managed to defeat them. Later, aboard a spaceship, Anakin had a duel against Count Dooku and General Grievous. While Dooku was killed with no problem, Grievous used an escape pod to go to Mustafar. After this, Anakin learned about The Egg, a powerful object whose location remains a mystery to anyone but Yoda. With this, he started to doubt about the Bird Side. Aware of this, Darth Sidious lured Anakin into joining him, though this fact would remain unknown to anyone else.[3]
A while later, back on Coruscant, Darth Sidious and Anakin plotted to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi, though they were discovered by Kenobi himself, Padmé, and Mace Windu. Enraged, Windu tried to kill Skywalker, only for him to be killed instead. Now having reveled himself against the Bird Side, Anakin used a ship to go to Mustafar as a dumbfounded Kenobi and a heartbroken Padmé watched him. Afterward, Darth Sidious ordered the Stormtroopers to reveal themselves to the Bird Side and kill all its members. The few survivors, including Obi Wan and Padmé, escaped to Mustafar, while Yoda was forced to escape to Dagobah.[3] On Mustafar, Kenobi had a lightsaber duel against Anakin, who was thrown to the lava. After Kenobi and Padmé left, Sidious and some Shocktroopers retrieved Anakin's body and, through a surgery, gave him a life-saving armor. Deciding to get rid of his past self, Skywalker adapted the alias of Darth Vader. The Pork Federation was soon after dissolved and replaced with the Pig Empire, which started to conquer the galaxy as they began the building of the Death Star.
Some time following these events, Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla went to Lothal in an attempt to weaken the Pig Empire, while Ezra Bridger attacked a Pork Side base on the planet. However, the impact of these actions remains unknown.
Angry Birds Star Wars[]
In Angry Birds Star Wars, after having almost finished the building of the Death Star, the Pig Empire kidnapped Leia and left her in a room with R2-D2. Learning of the plans of the empire, she installed the Death Star plans into R2-D2's memory. Later, Darth Vader forced Leia to tell him about the location of The Egg, an object he sought to find to be promoted to Emperor. However, Leia refused, and she was taken to the Death Star. In the meantime, R2-D2 and his friend, C-3PO, used an escape pod to go to Tatooine, where they told Luke Skywalker about the plans of the Pig Empire.[3]
Some time later, Luke, alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and the Blue Squadron, went aboard the Death Star, where they freed Leia as Kenobi had a lightsaber duel against Vader, which only gave the villain more power. Later, the Bird Rebels managed to blow up the main reactor of the Death Star, despite Darth Vader's best efforts of stopping them, which triggered a chain reaction that destroyed the entire spaceship, causing catastrophic consequences for the Pork Side.
A while afterward, the Pork Side learned that the Bird Rebels had built a headquarters on Hoth, the Echo Base, so they went to the planet to attack the heroes. However, the Rebels survived and managed to escape. Later, aware of the fact that the heroes would go to Cloud City on planet Bespin, Darth Vader went to the city and forced its ruler, Lando Birdissian, who was an old friend of Han Solo, to tell him every detail about the heroes' hostage. Later, Vader managed to kidnap Solo and trap him in carbonite as Lando started to regret having aided the villain. Later, Darth Vader had a lightsaber duel against Luke, and admitted that he was his father. However, despite the fact that he was fighting against his own father left him dumbfounded, Luke still managed to defeat Vader.
Later, on Tatooine, Leia freed Han Solo from the carbonite he was trapped in, only for the two to be kidnapped by Jabba the Hutt, who was a close ally of the Pig Empire. However, Luke, who had been trained by Yoda on Dagobah, saved his friends and choked Jabba to death. On a Moon of Endor, one of the Pork Side's bases was destroyed, and the Bird Rebels managed to track the location of the Death Star 2. After the ship defense systems were weakened, Vader tried (in vain) to defeat the Rebels for good. Later, Luke had a final showdown against Emperor Palpatine. In the climax of the battle, Vader had a change of heart and knocked down Palpatine, though this left him severally injured. A grieved Luke then took out his armor, allowing him to see his father's face for the first time. However, a chain reaction was soon after triggered, destroying the Death Star 2, and ending with the Pork Side's rule of the galaxy for good. The few remaining Stormtroopers celebrated with the Bird Rebels and some Ewoks the dissolution of the Pig Empire. The Pork Side's fate remains unknown.
