The Rio Tournament is an Angry Birds Friends tournament that happened on:
- Tournament 1 (August 31 to September 6, 2015)
It's a tournament made to (maybe) promote the Treasure Hunt episode for Angry Birds Rio.
Background
It's set somewhere in Rio de Janeiro.
New Features
- Marmosets: Monkeys which replace the pigs for this tournament.
- Caged Birds: Birds which need to be freed from the Marmosets.
Trivia
- The sound effects used for the Marmosets and Caged Birds were recycled from Angry Birds Rio.
- Although Samba Burst isn’t a power-up in this game, an image of a sad Red in a Samba Burst costume appears in the fail screen.
- There are more combinations of the Caged Birds in the tournament than there are in Angry Birds Rio. Some of these include (but are not limited to) a Scarlet Ibis on its own, a Crimson-hooded Manakin with a Blue and Gold Macaw, a Canary with a Purple Finch, a Scarlet Ibis with a Green Honeycreeper and a Green Honeycreeper with a Purple Finch and a Crimson-hooded Manakin. Notably, these cages can have a maximum of 3 birds, unlike Angry Birds Rio where they can have a maximum of 6 (10 if you include the cage containing only Crimson-hooded Manakins).
