Ruby Games is a Turkish hyper-casual game studio founded by Mert Can Kurum in 2018. The company is known for developing games such as Hunter Assassin, Handyman 3D!, and Press Inc., among others. Rovio acquired them on August 12, 2021 for an undisclosed amount (first part of the acquisition finalized in September 2021 according to the Rovio Q3 report on page 4). Rovio's CEO Alexandre Pelletier-Normand stated that the main reason they did this was to enter the hyper-casual market easier, so the company can insert their intellectual properties in their games. The CEO of Ruby Games is also happy with the acquisition process as mentioned by Rovio.
