Sonic the Hedgehog is the main protagonist of the franchise of the same name and Sega's mascot. He is an anthropomorphic hedgehog born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound, hence his name. As his species implies, Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball, primarily to attack enemies.
Sonic made a guest starring role, alongside his arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman in the Sonic Dash Event in Angry Birds Epic for a limited time from August 30 to September 13, 2015. He was captured by Dr. Eggman but was eventually set free by The Flock and worked alongside them to defeat Eggman's badniks. His abilities are to spin dash on the enemies and turn into Super Sonic when the Rage Chili is used on him.
Sonic retains some of his abilities from his franchise in Angry Birds Epic. Although the game restricts him to using two of, if not the most iconic ones: the Spin Dash and the Super Sonic transformation.
Sonic (curled up into a ball) appeared as a limited time spell that when launched, Rings will appear exactly like how Golden Ducks work. He likeness was used as the basis for Red's outfit for the Sonic Friends hat set.
Angry Birds Dream Blast[]

The classic version of Sonic first appears in Angry Birds Dream Blast as a non-playable character. Sonic, using his classic appearance, temporarily takes over Chuck's Flash Race as Sonic's Flash Race.
With Sonic in the Angry Birds franchise, there are now three characters whom are considered to be the fastest: Chuck, Terence as shown in Run Chuck Run and Sonic.
Unlike the other characters in Angry Birds Epic (who use separate rigged assets that make up their body), Sonic is a series of pre-rendered poses, and has limited expression.
Additionally, most of his voice lines, alongside Dr. Eggman's, were reused from various early-2010s Sonic titles in Angry Birds Epic.
Sonic uses his classic design in the Angry Birds Dream Blast event, matching with the birds being as young age-wise.
