The Space Eagle is a character who appears in the Angry Birds series. It is similar to the Mighty Eagle, but contrary to some fans' assumptions, is a separate character.

Appearance

The Space Eagle resembles a raven or crow with its purple plumage more than an eagle. It also has three plume feathers on top of its head. The Space Eagle's beak appears to be strongly curved, but there is no confirmed sideways-facing artwork to fully confirm it. Around its glowing orange eyes, there are black markings surrounding them. It seems to be much larger than Mighty Eagle.

In Angry Birds Reloaded, it has a dark blue tint instead of dark purple.

Angry Birds Space

In Angry Birds Space, the Space Eagle makes its debut as an entity who replaces the normal Mighty Eagle.

In gameplay, the Space Eagle is summoned using Sardines, just like the Mighty Eagle. When the sardines are launched, a wormhole will appear and the Space Eagle will do some damage to the level. The player then can continue to play the level as normal with the remaining birds, or use more Sardines to do further damage to the level. An Eagle Highscore appears once Space Eagle is used.

Unlike Mighty Eagle, there are no time restrictions on use, and the player can use several per level. They can earn them through gameplay achievements and Daily Missions, or through in-app purchases in the mobile versions of the game.

When the player gets 100% Total Destruction on all the levels of an episode, a feather will appear next to the episode's object. It was formerly three feathers with a glowing color, but it was replaced with this in recent updates.

If the player looks in the Space Flock in-game sprites on Angry Birds Space's files, they can see a regular Space Eagle in the sprite sheet without the blur effect.

In the Beak Impact levels, Space Eagle is replaced by the Mighty Buzzard, which behaves the same way, but it's dark blue, happier, older, with white hair and with a different beak in appearance. In Froot Loops Bloopers it is replaced by Toucan Sam.

Angry Birds Reloaded

In Angry Birds Reloaded, Space Eagle has some differences in gameplay. The Sardines are much more different in appearance, a design exclusive to the Space section of the game. It is also way bigger than in the original Angry Birds Space when it comes out of the wormhole, as well as being more powerful, damaging a larger part of the level.

The most notable change done is that there is now a predetermined amount of Sardines in a level instead of being able to use them all in one level, likely due to the lack of microtransactions, per Reloaded's nature of being an Apple Arcade game. This is the main reason why the Space Eagle is stronger in Reloaded.
