The episode begins with Red stating that "Splashageddon" is the "awesomest day of the summer", which seems like a water event. Red and Stella instruct Chuck and Bomb to pack up their stuff. Chuck poses with his towel, and Bomb shouts that he's going to "dig the biggest sand hole ever". Stella says that she's going to surf on Terence's belly-flop waves, and Chuck shouts, "Waterslide! Waterslide! Waterslide!" Red slaps Chuck's bottom with a towel, and Lynnette shoves open the door for a cabin inspection. Lynette is disgusted by the cabin, noticing the literal toilet in the bottom bunk of a bunkbed, and 2 pizza slices on a window. Bomb defends pineapple on pizza, and Lynette slaps the pizza from Bomb's hand before he could potentially give himself food poisoning from it. Lynette notices a pile of dirt and socks and forbids Red, Bomb, and Chuck from "Splashageddon" activities until they clean the cabin. Stella tries to get Lynnette to let Red, Chuck, and Bomb clean the cabin after the events of "Splashageddon", and Lynette makes her clean with them. Chuck casually drinks soap water, and Lynette exits the cabin.
Bomb cries that it isn't fair and shovels dirt into a sand bucket. Red yells, and Stella says that they could simply just walk out of the cabin. Stella realizes that Lynette has been behind the door, and she suggests that they should actually clean the cabin. Red objects because he thinks that it would prove that Lynette is right about he and his friends being "a bunch lazy, no-good bums," and Bomb rhetorically asks if the description is accurate as he shovels more dirt into the bucket. Red comes up with the plan to dig a tunnel to Splashageddon, and Chuck and Bomb cheer for him. Bomb uses Chuck as a jackhammer and drills a hole in the floor, causing the floaties to fall off of Bomb. Stella states that literally digging a tunnel to the lake instead of simply just cleaning the actual cabin will take more effort. Stella reluctantly jumps into the freshly-dug tunnel after Red.
Chuck and Bomb sing as they dig with literal sand castle shovels. Red tries to make Bomb explode to increase productivity. Chuck criticizes Red for trying to scare Bomb into exploding. Then, Chuck immediately does the exact same thing he criticized Red for literally less than a second prior. Stella gives up and Red says that they should metaphorically use their heads. Chuck takes "use your head" literally and headbutts the dirt. Stella, Red, and Chuck bounce off of Bomb's stomach to dig the tunnel while defying the law of the conservation of matter. Chuck tastes some leaking water, and Stella admits that Red is right. Chuck digs his way to the boys' bathroom, and Bomb tells Stella that Red "always comes through". They flush their way back to the tunnel after someone starts using a urinal. Bomb and Chuck cheer on Red and materialize a Red merchandise stand out containing a "I ❤ Red" foam finger, an autographed shirt, and Red sun tan lotion out of thin air. Chuck and Bomb spray lotion on each other's faces when Stella says that Red doesn't know what he's doing. They tell her to blindly trust Red, and Stella stomps the ground. Stella falls through a hole in the floor into a cavern filled with lava, and the others jump down to save her. Bomb and Chuck slingshot Red to Stella using a towel. A stalactite falls into the lava, causing Stella to surf on a rock. After Stella surfs to safety, Red tries to convince her into thinking he's "got this". Red, Chuck, Bomb, and Stella push a boulder into a dark cave under them. They meet Rouge, who has been in the cave for 40 years while trying to go to Splashageddon. He introduces the skeletons of his friends Ella, Flomb, and Buck. Bomb panics and explodes, causing the lake to flood the cave and tunnels.
The water stream takes Red and his friends back to the cabin where they started, washing the whole cabin clean in the process. Red apologizes for not bringing his friends to Splashageddon, but Chuck and Bomb compliment him for the adventure. Lynette notices the clean cabin and lets Red and his friends leave. The episode ends with Rouge swimming in the lake with his deceased friends.
