Princess Leia Organa (born 19 BBY on Polis Massa; died 35 ABY on Ajan Kloss), also known as Princess Stella Organa, is a main character in Angry Birds Star Wars, and a minor character in Angry Birds Star Wars II. She is based on Stella from the Angry Birds series, and Leia Skywalker Organa Solo from the Star Wars franchise.
Mirroring Leia's role in the original Star Wars trilogy, Leia serves as Luke Skywalker's sister and Han Solo's love interest. She is first held captive by Darth Vader until she is saved by the others; from then on, she becomes more active in the storyline and joins the playable cast.
Leia was highly prominent in promotional materials for Angry Birds Star Wars, even having her character introduction set; despite this, however, she was not a playable character upon the game's release, only appearing in the game's cutscenes. Leia would eventually make a playable debut in the Hoth update.
Appearance[]
Princess Leia resembles Stella, with pink feathers, a short yellow beak, and blue eyes. In addition, she retains Stella's three long round tail feathers, though it is not visible in her in-game sprites. In most of her appearances, she has her iconic brown "space buns" hairstyle based on her appearance in A New Hope. In stock art, she wears a white outfit resembles her dress in the same film. As a playable character in Hoth and onwards, she wears an off-white coat resembling the one from The Empire Strikes Back. Unusually, she keeps the same hairstyle from A New Hope.
In a picture from the Angry Birds Star Wars Cinematic Trailer and a cutscene from Moon of Endor, she is wearing the slave outfit and braided hair from Return of the Jedi when she was captured by Jabba the Hutt. However, in the trailer, her hair is the same from A New Hope. In cutscenes from Moon of Endor, she wears a green camouflage suit and matching hat.
Gameplay[]
Stella, for the first time, is featured with a different ability than what she typically had in slingshot-based games (the bubble ability). Rather, she has a pink tractor beam with which she can pull objects towards her. While this ability is weak at first, it grows stronger as the player progresses.
Players can use this ability to pull a supporting block on a tall structure, causing it to topple over, sometimes onto other structures. It can also be used to attack pigs beyond the other birds' reach. However, if there is an object between Stella and the player's desired target, Stella will instead hit the object.
It is also of note that all the characters in the game can activate their ability for a short period of time after they hit a structure, which can be used to the player's advantage.
Body-wise, Stella is not very strong, just as she appears in prior Angry Birds games. Once again, she is unable to deal much damage, at best shattering a few blocks of glass and wood, damaging steel only slightly.
If the player uses Stella's ability on the ground or other indestructible material, nothing will happen.

- As Jabba the Hutt's slave, classic Stella's original three head feathers can be seen underneath Leia's hair.
Notes[]
- ↑ Since Leia is modeled after Stella, who has been stated to be based on the galah, it can be assumed that Leia is one as well.
