The game begins with Terence isolated under a tree as the flock tends to the eggs. Suddenly, a vortex opens up in the sky and Ice Bird flies out with his eggsteroid, shortly followed by a robotic arm. The arm grabs the eggsteroid and the flock's eggs and goes back into the vortex, causing the flock to fly into the portal to pursue the eggs, Terence following.

Terence's level plays just like a regular Drop The Pigs level, with the difference being that it is endless and will spawn varying powerups once some progress is made as well as requiring tickets to be played. The objective is to drop as many pigs into the barrels at the bottom as possible before running out of moves, and the collected pigs contribute to obtaining daily and weekly rewards such as extra tickets and boosters. Terence comes with Smash Pop which is similar to Stella's Power Pop, except the radius for popping bubbles is larger.

Terence, Angry Birds Comics Issue 12 (2016) (Sugar Rush! story)

Terence, also known as TerrenceFat BirdBig Bird, Big Red Bird, Big Brother Bird, or Wrecking Ball Bird is a large red bird who is a member of the Flock. Introduced in 2010, he was the second character added the first game in the series through updates. The first was the Boomerang Bird, Hal. After his first appearance in the fourth episode, Terence became one of the main characters of the game, even officially becoming a member of Red's flock - even if he did not appear with them in Poached Eggs, Mighty Hoax, and Danger Above.

Personality

Terence's Description from the Birdsonality Test (modified):

Terence is the strong, silent type. Logical, level-headed, and rational, he has a keen analytical mind. His introspective nature can make him seem distant from others - but he, in turn, is sometimes baffled by how irrational and emotional others can be. He best works when he's left with his thoughts, or when interacting with other people who see things in the same way he does.

Terence is a very silent and isolated bird that rarely shows emotion, sad or happy. His quiet nature makes it hard for the other flock members to bond with him, as he has never talked at all - just making deep grunting sounds. The birds instead like him and oddly made the quiet bird a member of their flock.

Terence's personality comes from his haunted scarring past, and not much is known about it, but he had deeply troubling experiences as a young bird, which largely affected him. He has gone a dark and sinister route. He started doing multiple crimes before being sent to court and doing Anger Management Class, he doesn't even regret doing them. He doesn't really talk much in Angry Birds Movie Series (though he has sung a bit in the ending). He had a crush on Matilda and then married her.

Rightfully so, Terence is an extremely menacing and intimidating bird, and the pigs and at times, even the birds, fear him, with the ground shaking when he walks.

Though he has a very thick outer shell, Terence has shown bits and pieces of emotion to the other members of the flock. At times, he may even crack a smile, though his emotion quickly diminishes.

Appearances

Angry Birds

Terence makes his debut in the original Angry Birds game, where he is the seventh bird to be introduced and the

Template:Infobox character 2 second new one introduced through updates. He first appears in The Big Setup, where the entire episode is dedicated to him and Hal. After his introduction level, The Big Setup 9-1, he becomes a playable character in all the themes that follow as well as an official member of the core flock, even though he didn't appear with them in Poached Eggs.

Terence is noticeably very similar to Red in appearance, but it has been confirmed that they are not related in any way.

Terence is the only character to be involved in a one-bird level, excluding the Golden Eggs (a level where there is only one bird to shoot). He is also the only bird without a manually activated ability that does not have a corpse sprite.

Gameplay

While all of the other birds (except Red) have specific abilities, Terence has none. Instead, he has brute strength and can wreck through structures in his way with ease. He can smash through glass, wood, and stone effectively, something that none of the other birds can do. Like Red, he will only launch a battle cry when the player taps the screen as he is in flight.

Terence's strengths and weaknesses are seen here.

When the player activates the Power Potion powerup, Terence will quite literally break through anything in his path with ease. This becomes even better when the player adds on the King Sling and (or) Power Potion, as he can break through entire levels without losing speed or angle.

Here are the sounds he make:

"Mhyumm!"

-Before when he is launched out of the slingshot.

"Raaaaah!"

-When he is launched out of the slingshot.

"Ahhh!"

-Sound effect 1

"Ow!" (Low pitched)

-Hurt sound 1

"Ah!" (Low pitched)

-Hurt sound 2

Angry Birds Seasons

Terence

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears once again as a playable character and is introduced with the rest of the characters in the Trick or Treat theme when the game was still known as Angry Birds Halloween. After his introduction level, he then appears in all of the following themes as a playable character.

Unlike all the other Angry Birds games, Seasons does not change its character designs, so Terence keeps his classic design.

Like all the other characters, Terence has costumes that can be unlocked by the player.

He, at times, appears in themes as the main character, but a very noticeable one is the On Finn Ice theme, where he visits his cousin Tony in Finland, a character that was unknown to fans. He also appears as a main in the Ski or Squeal and Ragnahog themes.

Terence also appears as the Wingman in the Comic-Con level of Pig Days. However, rather than being an actual character with its designs, it is only Terence in an attached costume. It is more obvious when the player moves Terence around on the slingshot, where the headpiece flimsily moves around.

Gameplay

Terence once again has an extreme brute force and strength, just like he does in the original game. Otherwise, not much change is brought to his character.

In Piglantis, water features are introduced, and it is not extremely effective when it comes to Terence. Unless he has space to shoot out of the water, he will not do much damage when he resurfaces. He is much heavier than the other characters, of course, so he will sink much deeper than the rest of the other birds.

Tony

Tony is a separate character to Terence and is his cousin that lives in Finland. He first appears in On Finn Ice, and then on it has become a tradition to re-introduce Tony as a playable character in all of the winter-based themes for the game. He appears in three themes in total, the other two being Ski or Squeal and Ragnahog, and is a main character for both. He also appears once in Pig Days, level 3-12.

Tony is almost identical to Terence, but bears a difference in color and feathers, as he is much thicker as he lives in a colder climate.

While this detail has been overlooked by Rovio, Tony bears a resemblance to Terence's toons design, rather than his classic design.

Gameplay

Tony, unlike Terence, actually bears an ability. He, when the screen is tapped, flies downwards, and causes a mini-explosion on the first surface he hits. It is suggested that the player activates his ability at a high velocity so that he can have a lot of speed when he dives so that he is much more destructive.

Tony can also be used just like Terence and will have the same destructive effect that Terence does.

Angry Birds Rio

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears in Angry Birds Rio as a playable character, first appearing in Airfield Chase. Though it is unknown how he got there, it can be assumed that he traveled there with the rest of the flock to save Red, Chuck, and Jay, Jake, and Jim as they had been kidnapped. After his introduction level, he then appears as a playable character in all of the themes that follow.

Once Terence and the other members of the flock defeat Nigel and free the captive birds, they hijack the smuggler's plane and fly back to Piggy Island, where they arrive just in time to save the eggs from being captured by the pigs once again.

A while later, Terence and the rest of the flock travel back to Rio to visit their friends, Blu and Jewel. This begins the Rio 2 segment.

In this segment, all the characters received an animation change to their Toons designs, along with Terence. Terence made noticeable changes, his face was made much smaller in comparison to his body, making him seem much larger. His body is also much more rounded and wider, and slightly bounces when he lands. He also receives better shading and different outlining.

Gameplay

Terence bears the same ability that he has in the previous two Angry Birds games, and no real changes are made to his strength, size, or speed.

While caged birds/dolphins and marmosets are much tougher than the easily popped pigs, it is not as much of a problem for Terence, as he is much stronger than the other birds. However, it still manages to be a problem for Terence, and he will be weakened much quicker than if he were to be tearing through a large grouping of marmosets.

There are also water features introduced in Rio in the High Dive theme, and they work the same way for Terence as they do in Piglantis.

Angry Birds Space

Template:Infobox character 2Terence, along with a few other birds were teased in early 2012 for a new project of Rovio's. This soon revealed to be the fourth installment of the series, Angry Birds Space. Terence, along with all the other birds, received new counterparts and designs, all based on comic book characters.

Through the portal Terence, along with the rest of the flock, transforms into his space counterpart.

The flock makes it out of the vortex and into the final frontier, beginning the events of the game.

Terence is known as the "Incredible Terence" and is based on Marvel's comic book character, The Incredible Hulk. He doesn't make any changes appearance-wise, but his color is completely changed into green, and his spots and creases are now dark green.

Terence and the other characters (excluding Atomic Bird) received their own promotional videos, along with merchandise to advertise the game.

Gameplay

Terence has the same ability that he does in the previous games, though players now rely on his force rather than his strength. Terence now pushes the objects he hits, rather than destroy them, knocking them into gravitational fields and often having destructive results.

He also has a small unknown feature; when the screen is tapped when he is nearby a pig, he will roar, sending out flashes of green and causing the nearby pig to jump up. This will only happen in a gravitational field and isn't extremely useful, though it can do small damage.

The Wingman also appears in the form of space Terence with the wingman costume as a powerup. This time, however, Wingman can send out a gravitational field around him when the screen is tapped, attracting nearby objects for a couple of seconds until the field disappears and he disintegrates.

Angry Birds Friends!

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears in the Angry Birds Friends game, his technical first appearance into Angry Birds Friends was in Surf and Turf, you can also find him in Angry Birds Friends on mobile and the tournaments in both devices

He was introduced into the game in 2012

He had a design change in recent updates of the mobile version, using his Toons Design with slightly changes, such as a larger face. He also still has no defeated sprite.

In recent updates of the mobile version, he got his voice from Angry Birds Toons.

Terence is also available as a purchasable and customizable avatar for the player.

Gameplay

While there are no changes to Terence's size, ability, strength, and basic principles, he receives a small upgrade in his speed and strength. The player can also use power-ups to increase his strength and speed. He can also be leveled-up in the Star Cup, giving more points when he hits something.

Wingman

Main article: Wingman The Wingman is a power-up in which is Terence uses a dark blue mask with a yellow W. The Wingman is a bit stronger than him and can be used as an extra bird, mainly when the player uses all the birds and there is still pigs or to get extra points.

When he hits a structure,  a cartoon sound expression will appear near him.

The Hunter

The Hunter is Terence with grey hair, a mantle, and a hat. He only appears in Angry Birds Friends in the Weekly Halloween Tournament. His hat with hair and mantle are also in the Bird-O-Matic, which if combined with Terence, forms The Hunter.

Angry Birds Star Wars

Terence appears in the game as the counterpart of Chewbacca, a main character of the 'Star Wars Universe

Template:Infobox character 2 He is based on the Wookie species, a type unique to the universe, and is brown colored and very hairy.

Known as "Terebacca", the Wookie is best friends with Chuck "Ham" Solo, and the two own the Mighty Millenium Falcon together. They first appear when Obi-Wan and Red Skywalker ask them to help, insisting that they will be paid later. They board the Millenium Falcon, beginning the events of the game.

Terence received a promotional character video alongside Chuck to advertise the game as well as show gameplay for both characters. The video can be found on youtube.

Terebacca also received his own merchandise in promotion for the game, including his own plush toy.

Gameplay

While brute strength is still a factor in Terebacca's character, he now also can cause small tremors when he lands, misplacing and damaging objects close to him. This ability is seemingly quite destructive as the level shakes when he lands, but it isn't as powerful as the game leads it to be. It does have some perks to it, but for the most part, the player should rely on Terebacca's strength.

Body-wise, he can destroy multiple pieces of glass, wood, and a couple of pieces of metal with ease.

In the Hoth episode, Terebacca receives an ability upgrade and can create earthquakes when he makes contact with a surface. This causes a much more forceful impact on the objects nearby him and can cause big chain reactions with the right angle and direction. On this upgrade, he also makes a new sound when hitting something.

It is a new feature for characters to activate abilities slightly after they land, but this does not apply to Terebacca, being the only character without a player activated ability.

Angry Birds Star Wars II

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears again as Chewbacca, but only as a power-up extra charcter. He cannot be found in any of the story levels but can be bought as a powerup in certain amounts with in-game currency. He will then be available in all of the Bird Side levels and Pork Side if the player has bought the Bird Side for them.

Gameplay

Terence has the same ability that he does in the first game, though there is no need to upgrade him to have the earthquake effect.

Terence also has his own level in the Rewards Chapter, and it can be unlocked by obtaining a certain amount of points when using him.

Angry Birds Go!

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears in Angry Birds Go! as a playable character, and is first introduced in the Rocky Road theme. Multiple changes are made to his character. For one, he uses his Toons animation in-game, which hadn't happened before. He also, like all of the other characters, uses a 3D model, which was a first for Rovio, as all their games had been in 2D animation up until that point.

Like all the other playable characters in the game, Terence has his own kart, which is the Beep-Beep. This is the kart that he is featured with in Telepods, promotions, and other merchandise.

Gameplay

Terence was first featured in Rocky Road as a boss. You have to beat him 3 times in a race in order to unlock him as a playable character; and like most of the characters, he has a different ability. (In which a storm forms over his kart that shocks nearby opponents, giving him a small speed boost).

However, once the game was updated, the boss battles were then removed from the game and replaced with the campaigns. Now you have to get one star on campaign level 5, race 5.

Terence also appears in races as an opponent in all themes of the game.

His ability is to shock rival racers with a storm that was formed over his kart.

Angry Birds Epic

Template:Infobox character 2

Appearance

Terence does not participate at Angry Birds Epic as a playable character. Instead, he becomes a judge for the Birds Arena. (if Wi-Fi is available)

Gameplay

More information can be found in Player Vs. Player Arena.

The player will have up to 3 loses daily in the arena and a set of 3 quests that can be completed on that day. If the player loses 3 times in a day, they are no longer able to enter the stage for that day unless they pay 20 Lucky Coins. The coin flip also has a 50% chance to either give the player or their opponent the first attack although the odds can be increased to 75% through using the correct set item.

Angry Birds Transformers

Appearance

Terrence appears in Angry Birds: Transformers as Heatwave. He is the fireman suited as the real Heatwave. He doesn't move much though, as his personality in the original Angry Birds suits him.

Gameplay

Despite Terence's powerful blast, Terence isn't a good character. It takes a long time for missiles to rain down on the enemy, which if multiple enemies appear, Terence will have a disadvantage. However, Terence can reposition his blasts when the missiles are in the air. This can result in a loss of popped pigs though and could lead to Terence failing the mission.

Angry Birds POP!

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears in Angry Birds POP! as part of an endless daily level called Pop-A-Pig. Terence either gasps or frowns once the player runs out of moves and the level is over, and on the results screen, he is shown grinning with wide-open eyes as the collected pigs rain down on his head.

Gameplay

Terence's level plays just like a regular Drop The Pigs level, with the difference being that it is endless and will spawn varying powerups once some progress is made as well as requiring tickets to be played. The objective is to drop as many pigs into the barrels at the bottom as possible before running out of moves, and the collected pigs contribute to obtaining daily and weekly rewards such as extra tickets and boosters. Terence comes with Smash Pop which is similar to Stella's Power Pop, except the radius for popping bubbles is larger.

Angry Birds Fight!

Template:Infobox character 2He also appears in an unknown update version of the game. As of August 1st, 2017, the game has been discontinued and taken down from the Play and App stores, and servers have since been shut down.

Gameplay

Just like in Angry Birds Epic, he is not playable and is the judge of the Arena, in which he lifts the flag for the respective winner.

Angry Birds 2

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appears in the first official sequel to the original game, Angry Birds 2, as once again one of the protagonists. He is unlocked after obtaining a key, which can be used to unlock a character of the player's choice, meaning that Terence can be unlocked anytime. He returns still without ability, but he is way stronger.

The game also introduced computer animation for the birds and the pigs, which had never happened with the previous installments of the series. (which used pre-set separate sprites for when the bird is idle, flies, etc) Terence also appears in his Toons animation style, along with the growls used in the series.

Gameplay

He is strong against any type of block, he destroys any of them with ease, giving a small shockwave when he hits the ground.

His card can be leveled up using feathers, which increases the points obtained after using him, his card will change form and change color, matching the power of it, he also has unlockable hats which also increase the points.

Angry Birds Action

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appeared in Angry Birds Action! as once again a tritagonist. He appeared for the very first time (in an Angry Birds game) in his Movie animation style, which prominently included arms and legs.

Terence appeared in the 30th level of the game as a strong character that smashes through any breakable object for a short while.

The game was based on 3D animation, so Terence, along with all of the other characters used 3D character models.

As of October 2017, the game had been discontinued.

Gameplay

The entire game was based on a puzzle-pinball genre, and there were certain objectives that each level could have in order to complete the level.

The player could have used  Terence by pointing him at a target and shooting, and Terence would then hit and bounced off targets until he ran out of speed.

Terence's ability is to smash through any breakable object for a short while, creating cracks on the floor.

Like all of the other characters, as Terence leveled up he would have received special boosts. In his bronze stage, he would have the bounce boost. In his silver stage, he would have the speed boost. In his gold stage, he receives an extra move.

Angry Birds Holiday

Template:Infobox character 2Terence appeared in Angry Birds Holiday as a main character. He took care of the Chill Zone.

However, the game stopped development and was shut down as of December 31st, 2016.

Gameplay

The app was a building game, with Matilda guiding the player as he/she builds a paradise for pig tourists. There were items that could be unlocked with in-game currency, and Terence's item was the Chill Zone.

Not much is known about the gameplay otherwise, as the game was never given a worldwide release.

Trivia

  • Terence's spots are purple on his plush, rather than dark red.
  • He was first referred to by his proper name by Red in the Season's Greetings comic.
  • Terence is the largest member of The Flock (excluding Bubbles' inflated form and the Mighty Eagle).
  • Terence used to make Red's pain noises (in low pitch) in Angry Birds Friends. This was later on changed.
  • He is the first bird to have a confirmed name.
  • Strangely enough, although Terence is the largest and probably the heaviest bird of all, he somehow can teleport with ease. This can be seen in Angry Birds Toons episodes like Run Chuck, Run! and Fix It!, and in The Angry Birds Movie when the entire bird village went over to see who approached them.
  • Terence and Jay, Jake, and Jim are the only male birds in Angry Birds Toons to have a female voice performer. His sounds make him sound male though.
  • The fact that Terence only growls is a reference to hunter animals, such as felines.
  • In the Angry Birds 2 Terence trailer there was a typo it said "Terance" instead of Terence, see it here.
