− | Bird Island is an island inhabited by flightless birds. Red is running through the forest in a hurry to get somewhere with a wooden egg, finds a nasty snake, swims in a lake (Which a fish gets stuck in his tail) and then reaches the point. Red is revealed to be a reclusive, grumpy red bird outcast prone to hissy fits. He is a clown whose job is to entertain hatchlings on their birthdays. After failing his latest client because of his temper, he is sent to bird court where the honourable Judge Peckinpah, who stands on another bird named Cyrus and covers him with a robe, sentences Red to anger management class. The class is taught by [[White Bird|Matilda]] who was an angry bird herself. Among the birds in the class are [[Yellow Bird|Chuck]], a fast yellow bird who caused problems with a bird cop, [[Black Bird|Bomb]], a gentle blackbird who tends to literally explode whenever he gets surprised or upset, and [[Big Brother Bird|Terence]], a giant red bird who only growls. The class fails to improve Red's attitude and he attacks a sign made by Chuck. |
||
+ | ''Note 2: The plot is a modified version of a plot summary found [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1985949/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ql_stry_2 here].'' |
||
− | One day, while taking the class, Red and the other birds in his class are informed by [[Pink Bird|Stella]] that something's coming to the island, which turns out to be a large boat. A pig named [[Leonard]] and his smaller assistant, [[Ross]], The Freckled Pig, arrive from the boat and say they are from Piggy Island. Leonard greets the birds and claims to be a peaceful explorer and brings offerings of friendship. They are immediately accepted on the island, as more and more pigs begin to arrive at the island, without hesitation from the birds, except Red. |
||
+ | ===Chapter I: [[Happy Hatchday Scandal|Happy Hatchday]]=== |
||
− | Eventually, the pigs adjust to society. After Red asks Leonard if he's actually an explorer, why the pigs are still on the island, and why more are coming. Peckinpah informs Red to steer clear of the pigs, refusing to believe his accusations about the pigs. He recruits Chuck and Bomb to help him find [[Mighty Eagle]], a giant eagle who is said to be the protector of the island, and the only bird that can fly. After searching for a few days, they find his "Lake of Wisdom" on top of Bird Mountain and discover the Mighty Eagle. Chuck and Bomb swim, drink and play in the water. Red then hears a huge sound of footsteps and then approaching out of his cave, We see Mighty Eagle. Red, Chuck and Bomb are shocked. Then, he pees in the lake. The birds are disgusted. As Red attempts to tell Mighty about his suspicions about the pigs, the Mighty Eagle is revealed to be a lazy, boastful retired bird, who hasn't flown in years. Angry with Mighty, Red and his friends leave after Red sees the pigs planting TNT around the island and they discover that Red's suspicion of the pigs was correct as they are stealing the birds' eggs while the residents are distracted by a party started by the pigs far from the village. After discovering that the pigs are stealing every egg on the island, Red and Bomb attempt to retrieve the eggs while Chuck runs to alert the rest of the island's residents about the theft-in-progress. Red and Bomb fail to stop the pigs, who leave in their boat and in the process, the TNT destroys the village. When the birds arrive on the beach the following morning, Peckinpah apologizes to Red for not listening to him. Seeing the depressed birds, Red rallies them to let their anger lose for once and set sail for Piggy Island in order to retrieve the stolen eggs. |

− | The birds construct a boat from the supplies left behind by the pigs, set sail and eventually land on Piggy Island. The pigs are revealed to live in a walled city, with a giant castle in the centre. After Red sees a painting of Leonard wearing a crown by the castle entrance, he realizes that Leonard is the pigs' king and that the eggs are most likely in the castle. Using the giant [[slingshot]], the birds attack the pigs by slinging birds such as Hal and Bubbles at them but fail to reach the castle. Red, Chuck, and Bomb make it to the castle and find that the eggs are in a boiler room to be cooked and eaten by the pigs. They manage to enter when Chuck defeats the guards. |
||
+ | <blockquote>''Red: Timothy: wheat allergy, doesn't like clowns.''</blockquote> |
||
− | Before they can save the eggs, Red is captured by Leonard, now King Mudbeard and threatens to boil Red. Chuck and Bomb manage to enter the room. Mighty Eagle then sees the conflict from Bird Island, and then flies into the castle and tries to carry the eggs out. As the birds escape, Leonard grabs Red by the leg and a blue egg falls out, making its way back to the castle. Deciding to risk his life, Red goes to save the egg from Leonard and eventually floods the castle with the boiling liquid the pigs were used to cook the eggs. Red outsmarts Leonard and takes back the egg, leaving the King and the entire pig island to be destroyed with TNT in the castle basement that the pigs had used during their heist, taking refuge in the giant overturned pot the eggs were going to be cooked in. After the explosion, the birds mourn the death of Red, but he emerges with the egg (which has hatched, revealing [[Blue Bird|three blue birds]]) and is hailed a hero. When approached by Mighty Eagle, the giant bird claims that he isn't really lazy and made Red, Chuck and Bomb lose faith in him to teach them to find faith in themselves. |
||
+ | <blockquote>''Red: Oh, boy.''</blockquote> |
||
− | Later, the birds appear to give Mighty Eagle all the credit for the egg rescue, Red humbly takes it in stride. However, he discovers that the birds have rebuilt his house as a sign of gratitude and Red decides that it would be better in life to be part of a community. Red, Chuck and Bomb become roommates. In the credits, it is revealed that a few of the pigs have survived, while Leonard is hatching a new plan to steal the eggs. Then, Jay, Jake, and Jim use the slingshot to launch themselves out to sea. |

+ | In [[Bird Island]], an island inhabited by [[Bird anatomy (ABM)|flightless]] [[birds]], birds live in peace. The film starts with a cardinal named [[Red]] ([[Jason Sudeikis]]) running through the forest frantically with a wooden [[egg]]. Red runs into trees and gets hurt in before making it to the home of a bird-family, which consists of [[Eva]], [[Edward]], and [[Timothy]]. He puts on a clown costume and tries to calm him down by only telling him that he is just a clown until he realizes that he's scared of clowns. Edward ([[Hannibal Buress]]) chastises Red for showing up late to his hatchday party, as well as for damaging the [[cake]] (which he carried in the wooden egg). He refuses to pay for the cake, causing Red to throw a temper tantrum by shoving the cake into Edward's face (as well as putting his clown wig and hat on him). As he tries to leave, Red accidentally cracks the family's new egg, making his face the first thing the [[hatchling]] ([[Vincent]]) sees. Due to this, the hatchling calls Red "Daddy". |

As a child, he was mocked and bullied for his huge eyebrows by being called "Eyebrows", and to this day, he still has no friends. He is put on trial by Edward and his family for his anger. Being sent to the [[Bird Court]], [[Judge Peckinpah]] ([[Keegan Michael-Key]]) calls Red out for his anger issues, to which Red responds to by pulling off his robe and showing he is actually a small bird standing on top of another bird named [[Cyrus]] ([[Tony Hale]]). He chooses to ignore it until the sign knocks him in the head, and then he tackles it and hurls it against the dojo; which was witnessed by [[Bobby]]and [[Helene]]. Red goes inside the dojo and meets the calm and selfless teacher, [[Matilda]] ([[Maya Rudolph]]). She introduces him to the other attendants - [[Chuck]], a fun-loving canary ([[Josh Gad]]) who got in trouble with [[Officer Bill Beakins]] for causing mischief with his extreme speed; [[Bomb]], a sarcastic and ill-tempered Greater Antillean Bullfinch ([[Danny McBride]]) who literally explodes under being surprised or upset; and [[Terence]], also a cardinal like Red ([[Sean Penn]]), a huge bird that only grunts and has apparently done unspeakable things. The birds then attempt yoga exercises to stay calm, but Bomb ends up exploding. After the class, Chuck and Bomb invite Red to hang out with them, but he turns them down. He goes home alone. |

Accusing Terence, Terence punches him into the wall. Red ends up failing the anger management classes. Suddenly, all the birds on the island get curious when [[Stella]] ([[Kate McKinnon]]), announces something is coming, and they see a large ship ([[The Porkchop Express]]) pulling onto the shore and dropping her anchor on Red's house, which took him five years to build; and irritated him severely. From the ship emerged a kind bearded pig named [[Leonard Mudbeard]] ([[Bill Hader]]) and his bumbling co-pilot and assistant [[Ross]] (Tony Hale, same voice as Cyrus and the [[Mime]]). Declaring themselves to be residents of [[Piggy Island]], Leonard says that they are the only two pigs on the ship, and he wants to befriend the birds and give them peace and hospitality, which eventually turned out to be lies. Red was suspicious about the island's new visitors, but everyone dismissed it as his anger for getting his house demolished. |

They then realize they climbed the wrong mountain, after seeing the mountain from below. forcing them to take another long journey up the correct one. They find the [[Lake of Wisdom]], so Chuck and Bomb start swimming and drinking from it, even spitting and gargling in the lake. Mighty Eagle then appears and starts urinating in the lake, to their horror and disgust, with Bomb crying. Unlike the heroic and muscular image they had of him, Mighty Eagle is actually old, fat, and lazy, getting the birds' names wrong - and lives the life of a slacker - but Red was still excited to meet his longtime idol. However, instead of helping the birds, Mighty Eagle just indulged in his prized possessions, like trophies - in what he called the "Hall of Heroism". He also sang a [[The Mighty Eagle Song|song]] about himself - with Chuck and Bomb improvising on its lyrics. |

+ | Shortly after exploring Mighty Eagle's cave, Red finds Mighty Eagle looking through his binoculars to spy on an old lady bird (Shirley) in a hot tub. When Red looks through it, he spots the pigs placing [[TNT]] and dynamite around the village. Red, Chuck, and Bomb rush back to the village and come across the pigs stealing the eggs, while the other birds are attending a party the pigs threw for them, hosted by the [[Daft Piggies]] - mimicking the group ''Daft Punk''. Chuck rushes into the party to warn everyone while Red and Bomb run to The Porkchop Express, with the eggs, in a net (and Billy too) on it. They grab onto the net holding all the eggs. Bomb climbs up the chain to try and blow it up, but Leonard and his gang spray him with a hose, knocking him and Red into the water. After this, a pig shoots a flaming arrow (actually a plunger) onto the [[Mighty Eagle Statue]] (with dynamite on its base), which lands directly on Red and Bomb, knocking them incapacitated. |

Judge Peckinpah approaches Red and expresses remorse for not listening to him when he suspected the pigs. ||
+ | The birds build their boat and attach their slingshot to it, while accidentally tying up [[Hal]] ([[Anthony Padilla]]) in the process. They arrive at Piggy Island outside the fortified city of [[Pig City]]. Leonard, who had just been crowned [[King of Piggy Island]] under the name "[[King Mudbeard]]", presented the eggs to the other pigs as they prepared to feast on them for dinner, much to their rejoice. The birds then set up the slingshot to launch themselves into the city. [[Matilda]] goes first, with her ability being able to shoot [[Egg Bomb]]s out of her buttocks. Hal goes next, while he is about to do damage, he flies back to the birds, hitting a tree, with Red requesting Chuck for medical assistance. [[Bubbles]] ([[Ian Hecox]]) follows, and he inflates into an incredibly huge size, saying "Don't mess with Bubbles!". Stella follows, but she can't reach the castle. Red gets launched toward the castle as he bounces off a boulder. Chuck and Bomb go soon after him. Terence tries to launch himself, but he ends up breaking the slingshot. |

||
+ | <blockquote>''"MIGHTY EAGLE!" ''</blockquote> |

+ | ''-Mighty Eagle '' |
||
+ | [[File:ABMOVIE MIGHTY EAGLE.png|thumb|277x277px|Mighty Eagle destroying the ceiling of the [[Pig Palace]]'s great hall]] |
||
+ | Red, Chuck, and Bomb infiltrate the castle and find the room where the eggs are being stored. Using his super-speed, Chuck causes the guard pigs to turn on each other, leaving them free to run in and get the eggs. Unfortunately, they are being brought into the palace's great hall where they are ready to get boiled. Red is holding on to the top of the net and then tackles the pig lowering them into the pot so he can pull them up. Mighty Eagle then swoops down to join in the fight. Red helps him get the net of eggs away and out of the castle. As the birds try to escape, Leonard holds onto Red. The pull causes one blue egg to slip out of the net. Red stays behind to save it. Mighty Eagle flies away with the eggs, but the pigs are headed toward them on their planes. Bomb drops down and makes a huge explosion to stop them from flying off the ramp. |
||
+ | |||
+ | === Chapter XII: A Big Explosion === |
||
+ | <blockquote>''"You have annoyed me for the last time!"''</blockquote> |
||

+ | ''-King Leonard Mudbeard'' |
||
+ | [[File:ABMOVIEDELICIOUSEGGYWEGGY.png|left|thumb|271x271px|Leonard trying to heat up the egg containing [[Jay, Jake, and Jim]]]] |
||
+ | Red and Leonard fight for the egg, resulting in a huge boulder dropping them down to the bottom of the castle where the pigs keep their stash of explosives. Leonard has the egg and starts taunting Red, until Red calmly distracts him and pulls a box of [[TNT]]<nowiki> that makes Leonard slip and fall toward him. Red grabs the egg and waits for the giant pot to fall down so he can hide in it for protection, leaving Leonard to get blown up and seriously injured as the explosives go off, causing the whole city to be destroyed. The rest of the birds see the explosion as Mighty Eagle brings the eggs down. All the birds take their eggs back, except the parents of the blue egg. The birds then get sad as they think Red died, but with Vincent screaming ''Daddy!'' as he emerges from the rubble and ashes and much to everyone's delight, a group of blue triplets, healthy and intact, emerge from the egg - named </nowiki>[[Jay, Jake, and Jim]]. He brings them back to their parents, [[Olive Blue]] and [[Greg Blue]]. Mighty Eagle then reveals that he intentionally behaved lazily in order for Red to lose faith in him and gain faith in himself as a test of character. |
||

||
+ | ''-Bomb (looking at Red's newly reconstructed house)'' |
||
+ | |||
+ | Mighty Eagle gets supposedly all the credit for the egg rescue, his [[Mighty Eagle Statue|statue]] restored to show his newest accomplishment, but the birds are still thankful to Red for his heroics by rebuilding his home, this time in the village with everyone else. The [[hatchlings]] then sing a newly composed [[The Mighty Red Song|song]] dedicated to him, which is actually the Mighty Eagle song but modified to mention his heroics, which really moved him. [[Terence]] also joined in at the very end, much to everybody's shock. Chuck and Bomb then invite Red to hang out, but he decides to stay home alone. The two are about to leave disappointed, but Red says he was joking and he invites them inside as roommates. |
||
+ | === Epilogue: Closing Credits === |
||
+ | <blockquote>Leonard can't dance! He's hatching a [[The Angry Birds Movie 2|new plan]].</blockquote> |
||
+ | |||
+ | ''-King Leonard Mudbeard ''[[File:ABMOVIELEONARDANDROSSDANCING.png|left|thumb|260x260px|Ross and Leonard dancing]] |
||
+ | The closing credits show the birds dancing to "[[I Will Survive]]". The survivors of the Battle of Pig City are also dancing. The seriously injured Leonard then says he is hatching up a new scheme, but due to pressure by [[Ross]], he joins the other [[pigs]] in dancing. Finally, Jay, Jake, and Jim sneak off to the newly repaired slingshot and launch themselves together over the ocean before separating just like in their ability in the Angry Birds games. After this, the movie's credits start, which features an inaudible digital watermark which could formerly be used to unlock exclusive content in [[Angry Birds Action!]]. |

For that film, instead of being an animated film that took place on Bird Island and Piggy Island, it was a live-action film that took place in the real world. The birds were created from genetics and could not talk, it featured humans, it was targeted at older audiences, and it was an action movie instead of a comedy movie. |

The Angry Birds Movie is a 2016 American 3D CGI-animated action-adventure fantasy comedy movie adaptation on the Angry Birds series of video games and was released in theaters in 3D & REAL D 3D on May 20, 2016. The film is presented by Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animation, CGI-animated at Sony Pictures Imageworks, and financed by Rovio Entertainment. In Finland (where Angry Birds was originally created), it was distributed by Sony Pictures. It was released on Digital HD July 29, 2016 and Blu-Ray/DVD August 16, 2016. A sequel, titled The Angry Birds Movie 2, is scheduled to be released on August 14, 2019.
The film received was well-received by the public, received mixed reviews from critics, and was a box office success, grossing over $352 million and became the third highest-grossing film of all time to be based on a video game (the 2nd was Warcraft and the first was Assassin's Creed).
The movie's plot revolves around flightless birds saving their eggs from their newfound enemies, the pigs.
Synopsis
The movie takes place on Bird Island, an untouched paradise inhabited by birds who are naive and innocent, who know nothing of the outside world. They treasure eggs above everything else, and are all carefree and easygoing, except for Red, Chuck and Bomb. Red is a societal outcast who has had anger issues ever since his childhood. Eventually, his outbursts become too much after making a hatchling hatch prematurely and is sentenced by Judge Peckinpah to anger management courses at the Infinity Acceptance Center, where he meets other misfit birds with similar problems.
The birds are suddenly visited by green pigs, who are dumb but funny. The birds and pigs quickly befriend each other, but Red does not trust the pigs at all. Ultimately, the pigs reveal their true colors, and due to this, anger was sent into the hearts of the birds; as well as plotting revenge.
Plot
Note 1: The plot has been divided into thirteen chapters and an epilogue for easier reading.
Note 2: The plot is a modified version of a plot summary found here.
Chapter I: Happy Hatchday
For more information about this and the following chapter, see Happy Hatchday scandal.
Red: Happy hatch day to you. Happy hatch day, dear
Red: Timothy: wheat allergy, doesn't like clowns.
Red: Oh, boy.
Timothy sniffles.
Red: Happy hatch day to you!
Timothy screams.
In Bird Island, an island inhabited by flightless birds, birds live in peace. The film starts with a cardinal named Red (Jason Sudeikis) running through the forest frantically with a wooden egg. Red runs into trees and gets hurt in before making it to the home of a bird-family, which consists of Eva, Edward, and Timothy. He puts on a clown costume and tries to calm him down by only telling him that he is just a clown until he realizes that he's scared of clowns. Edward (Hannibal Buress) chastises Red for showing up late to his hatchday party, as well as for damaging the cake (which he carried in the wooden egg). He refuses to pay for the cake, causing Red to throw a temper tantrum by shoving the cake into Edward's face (as well as putting his clown wig and hat on him). As he tries to leave, Red accidentally cracks the family's new egg, making his face the first thing the hatchling (Vincent) sees. Due to this, the hatchling calls Red "Daddy".
Chapter II: Bird Court
Your Honor, our family has always practiced natural child-hatch; the risks of having a scrambled infant are too great. There was going to be music, the nest was going to be full with beautiful, fresh-cut flowers, and the first two faces he was going to see were the loving faces of his mother and his father. We can never get that moment back.
-Eva
Red lives on Bird Island in a house by the beach, away from the rest of the other flightless birds who live in the Bird Village. As a child, he was mocked and bullied for his huge eyebrows by being called "Eyebrows", and to this day, he still has no friends. He is put on trial by Edward and his family for his anger. Being sent to the Bird Court, Judge Peckinpah (Keegan Michael-Key) calls Red out for his anger issues, to which Red responds to by pulling off his robe and showing he is actually a small bird standing on top of another bird named Cyrus (Tony Hale). Furious, Peckinpah then sentences Red to anger management classes, which are held at the Infinity Acceptance Center.
Chapter III: Anger Management
Early Bird: Hey Red, how are ya?
Red: Oh, I'm horrible!
-The Early Bird and Red
Red begrudgingly goes to the class, walking down Main Street. Passing numerous stalls like Early Bird Worms, he sees the welcome dummy, the dojo's mascot; which is named Billy (Catherine Winder) - out front and is annoyed by the chuckle it makes. He chooses to ignore it until the sign knocks him in the head, and then he tackles it and hurls it against the dojo; which was witnessed by Bobbyand Helene. Red goes inside the dojo and meets the calm and selfless teacher, Matilda (Maya Rudolph). She introduces him to the other attendants - Chuck, a fun-loving canary (Josh Gad) who got in trouble with Officer Bill Beakins for causing mischief with his extreme speed; Bomb, a sarcastic and ill-tempered Greater Antillean Bullfinch (Danny McBride) who literally explodes under being surprised or upset; and Terence, also a cardinal like Red (Sean Penn), a huge bird that only grunts and has apparently done unspeakable things. The birds then attempt yoga exercises to stay calm, but Bomb ends up exploding. After the class, Chuck and Bomb invite Red to hang out with them, but he turns them down. He goes home alone.
Chapter IV: The Pigs Arrive
For more information about this chapter, see Bird Island Expedition.
Hurry, something's coming!
During the next class, the birds are told to write poems. Chuck recites his over his dismay regarding Billy's destruction, and everyone knows the culprit - Red. Accusing Terence, Terence punches him into the wall. Red ends up failing the anger management classes. Suddenly, all the birds on the island get curious when Stella (Kate McKinnon), announces something is coming, and they see a large ship (The Porkchop Express) pulling onto the shore and dropping her anchor on Red's house, which took him five years to build; and irritated him severely. From the ship emerged a kind bearded pig named Leonard Mudbeard (Bill Hader) and his bumbling co-pilot and assistant Ross (Tony Hale, same voice as Cyrus and the Mime). Declaring themselves to be residents of Piggy Island, Leonard says that they are the only two pigs on the ship, and he wants to befriend the birds and give them peace and hospitality, which eventually turned out to be lies. Red was suspicious about the island's new visitors, but everyone dismissed it as his anger for getting his house demolished.
Chapter V: Celebration
Note: The Porkchop Express is a naval vessel - and is referred to with female pronouns.
That night, the birds threw a celebration for the pigs' arrival. Leonard introduces them to trampolines and also gives them one of the most famous items of the Angry Birds series, the slingshot. Leonard picks Red from the audience after numerous suspicions about them, and Red is launched into the beach, must to everyone's joy. He is quickly joined by Chuck and Bomb as they decide to sneak onto The Porkchop Express. After finding other trampolines and various other items, such as a book called Fifty Shades of Green, they discover dozens of other pigs stowed away in a room inside her. Red brings them all back to the village and accuses Leonard of lying. Leonard says they're his cousins and that he wanted to put on a cowboy show for them. The naughty lead cowboy, Earl (Blake Shelton, singer of Friends), gets his show going, while Peckinpah finds it more awful that Red decided to sneak onto their boat.
Chapter VI: Hatching a Plan
Tell you this, if anyone knows what these pigs are up to, it's Mighty Eagle.
-Red
The pigs start to get comfortable on Bird Island, with all the other birds (except Red) taking pleasure in their stay. Red then gets suspicious when he sees Leonard eyeballing an egg. He gets Chuck and Bomb to help him spy on the pigs. They then decide to search for Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage), a legendary bird said to only be a myth, but also the protector of the island. Chuck and Bomb then fantasize how Mighty Eagle may look like.Bomb imagines him as an incredibly strong bodybuilder who could cut severals trees with a punch,destroy a pile of rocks with a kick,crack open a coconut using his brachialis (In an additional scene,he breaks volcanic rocks with his teeth and turns it into luxuous golden teeth and diamond braces,while diving on lava) ,while Chuck imagines him as a rock-star who is holding a concert on Bird Island
Chapter VII: Finding Mighty Eagle
HEY-YOO-HOO! HEY-YOO-HOO! HEY-YOO-HOO!
-Bomb (guessing Mighty Eagle's battle cry)
The three birds climb a mountain to reach Mighty Eagle, leaving Red to listen to Chuck and Bomb making noises that they think would be Mighty Eagle's battle cry, with Red being angered with the supposed noises. They then realize they climbed the wrong mountain, after seeing the mountain from below. forcing them to take another long journey up the correct one. They find the Lake of Wisdom, so Chuck and Bomb start swimming and drinking from it, even spitting and gargling in the lake. He also sang a song about himself - with Chuck and Bomb improvising on its lyrics.
Chapter VIII: The Raid on the Eggs
"Thank you for your hospitality!"
For more information about this chapter, read the article Raid on the Eggs.
Shortly after exploring Mighty Eagle's cave, Red finds Mighty Eagle looking through his binoculars to spy on an old lady bird (Shirley) in a hot tub. When Red looks through it, he spots the pigs placing TNT and dynamite around the village. Red, Chuck, and Bomb rush back to the village and come across the pigs stealing the eggs, while the other birds are attending a party the pigs threw for them, hosted by the Daft Piggies - mimicking the group Daft Punk. After this, a pig shoots a flaming arrow (actually a plunger) onto the Mighty Eagle Statue (with dynamite on its base), which lands directly on Red and Bomb, knocking them incapacitated.
Chapter IX: Remorse
Judge Peckinpah: "Mr. Red...what do we do now?"
Red: "Hold on, you're asking me?"
Judge Peckinpah: "You tried to tell us. But we didn't listen. I didn't listen."
-Judge Peckinpah and Red
The next morning, all the birds in the village see the ruin of their homes and the loss of their eggs. Judge Peckinpah approaches Red and expresses remorse for not listening to him when he suspected the pigs. When asked for a plan, Red says they must make a raft and navigate their way to Piggy Island, and that they would be going to take back what was taken from them.
Chapter X: The Battle of Pig City
Stella: "How are we going to get over those walls?"
Red: "I'll tell you how. We're gonna fly."
-Stella and Red
To read more on this chapter and the following chapters, read the article Battle of Pig City.
The birds build their boat and attach their slingshot to it, while accidentally tying up Hal (Anthony Padilla) in the process. They arrive at Piggy Island outside the fortified city of Pig City. Leonard, who had just been crowned King of Piggy Island under the name "King Mudbeard", presented the eggs to the other pigs as they prepared to feast on them for dinner, much to their rejoice. The birds then set up the slingshot to launch themselves into the city. Matilda goes first, with her ability being able to shoot Egg Bombs out of her buttocks. Hal goes next, while he is about to do damage, he flies back to the birds, hitting a tree, with Red requesting Chuck for medical assistance. Bubbles (Ian Hecox) follows, and he inflates into an incredibly huge size, saying "Don't mess with Bubbles!". Stella follows, but she can't reach the castle. Red gets launched toward the castle as he bounces off a boulder. Chuck and Bomb go soon after him. Terence tries to launch himself, but he ends up breaking the slingshot.
Chapter XI: Mighty Eagle's Entry
"MIGHTY EAGLE!"
-Mighty Eagle
Red, Chuck, and Bomb infiltrate the castle and find the room where the eggs are being stored.
Chapter XII: A Big Explosion
"You have annoyed me for the last time!"
-King Leonard Mudbeard
Red and Leonard fight for the egg, resulting in a huge boulder dropping them down to the bottom of the castle where the pigs keep their stash of explosives. Leonard has the egg and starts taunting Red, until Red calmly distracts him and pulls a box of TNT that makes Leonard slip and fall toward him. The birds then get sad as they think Red died, but with Vincent screaming ''Daddy!'' as he emerges from the rubble and ashes and much to everyone's delight, a group of blue triplets, healthy and intact, emerge from the egg - named Jay, Jake, and Jim. He brings them back to their parents, Olive Blue and Greg Blue. Mighty Eagle then reveals that he intentionally behaved lazily in order for Red to lose faith in him and gain faith in himself as a test of character.
Chapter XIII: Gratitude
Would you look at that!
-Bomb (looking at Red's newly reconstructed house)
Mighty Eagle gets supposedly all the credit for the egg rescue, his statue restored to show his newest accomplishment, but the birds are still thankful to Red for his heroics by rebuilding his home, this time in the village with everyone else. The hatchlings then sing a newly composed song dedicated to him, which is actually the Mighty Eagle song but modified to mention his heroics, which really moved him. Terence also joined in at the very end, much to everybody's shock. Chuck and Bomb then invite Red to hang out, but he decides to stay home alone. The two are about to leave disappointed, but Red says he was joking and he invites them inside as roommates.
Epilogue: Closing Credits
Leonard can't dance! He's hatching a new plan.
-King Leonard Mudbeard
The closing credits show the birds dancing to "I Will Survive". The survivors of the Battle of Pig City are also dancing. The seriously injured Leonard then says he is hatching up a new scheme, but due to pressure by Ross, he joins the other pigs in dancing. Finally, Jay, Jake, and Jim sneak off to the newly repaired slingshot and launch themselves together over the ocean before separating just like in their ability in the Angry Birds games. After this, the movie's credits start, which features an inaudible digital watermark which could formerly be used to unlock exclusive content in Angry Birds Action!.

Just like Goosebumps, Kung Fu Panda 3, and Zootopia, it was in Widescreen Scope, and the preview is presented the same as those films.
When this movie released on home media on August 16, 2016, the final trailer got updated to represent that release. So far, it shows up on the SPHE DVD release of Angry Birds Toons: Season 3, Volume 1.

Trivia
For another collection of trivia (unfinished): see The Angry Birds Movie/Trivia.
- Although it has a rotten rating, The Angry Birds Movie is the second highest rated video game movie on Rotten Tomatoes, the first being Tomb Raider.
- For the first time in franchise history, the Angry Birds characters are depicted to be fully limbed. The new character designs were intentionally never used anywhere else prior the film to make it special.
- Several references or cameos from other Angry Birds media can be seen in the movie.
- In the scene where the chandelier with Leonard and Red is falling down in Leonard's castle, the Piggy Tales episode Dr. Pork, M.D can be seen briefly on a TV in a room. When the pot falls through the castle, another Piggy Tales episode, The Catch, can be seen briefly on the TV in the room.
- There are many in-game sounds in the movie. In the opening credits, Red kicks away, which makes Matilda's battle cry, and when Red, Chuck, and Bomb find the pigs in the boat, the pigs make a noise when a player fails a level in the games.
- At one point at the beginning of the film, Red asks Edward and Eva, "On a scale of 1 to 3 stars, what would you say about my performance?", referencing the star-scoring system in the games.
- Chuck says "It's Chuck Time!" twice, referencing to the Angry Birds Toons episode "Chuck Time."
- When the birds are launched from the slingshot, they tuck their legs under their wings, which gives their appearances a match to their game counterparts.
- There are also several easter eggs and references to other media.
- The novel and movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, is parodied in one scene in The Porkchop Express in which a book is seen titled Fifty Shades of Green.
- In the scene where Chuck opens all of the doors in the Pig Palace, Red opens a door and sees two pigs wearing blue, frilly dresses, having black rings around their eyes, and holding each other's hooves. Two seconds later, these pigs say "Redrum..." in unison, which when reversed spells "murder". Then, a reflection of the Grady Pigs is shown in Red's eyes while Red says, "Uh... never mind!", and closes the door. These pigs are clearly a parody of the Grady Twins from the famous horror movie, The Shining.
- One of the pigs said Instaham, referencing the social media app, Instagram
- Petunia roars like the Tyrannosaurus Rex from the famous Universal movie, Jurassic Park.
- A pig holds a sign that says "Green Ham and Eggs!," which is a parody of the Dr. Seuss book Green Eggs and Ham.
- The painting that Terence paints during Matilda's anger management course is a parody of the painting The Creation of Adam
- Chuck is shown to be left-handed in this film. This is proven from when he paints with it, raises it, and does other things with his left hand.
- In 2011, before the official announcement of the movie, the YouTube channel of the entertainment company "Rooster Teeth" (owners of ScrewAttack, better known for creating multiple web series such as Death Battle and The Angry Video Game Nerd) made a fake trailer for an Angry Birds film. For that film, instead of being an animated film that took place on Bird Island and Piggy Island, it was a live-action film that took place in the real world. The birds were created from genetics and could not talk, it featured humans, it was targeted at older audiences, and it was an action movie instead of a comedy movie.
- In the games, Hal was rescued from the pigs by the birds with the Blues, but in the movie, Hal was already teamed with the birds before the Blues hatched.
- In the movie, most the flock sport eye color.
- Red has Gold eyes,
- Chuck has Lime eyes,
- Bomb has Lightblue eyes,
- Matilda has Teal eyes,
- Stella has Lightblue eyes,
- Terence has Sienna eyes.
- Hal has Aqua eyes,
- Bubbles has Yellowgreen eyes,
- The Mighty Eagle has Navy eyes,
- Jay has Lightblue eyes,
- Jake has Teal eyes, and
- Jim has Sienna eyes.
Errors
- For some reason, hatchlings only have two toes on their feet, but grown birds (except for Matilda and Judge Peckinpah, also have two toes) have three toes on their feet.
- In the Bird Court scene during the Happy Hatchday scandal, the woodpecker carved a picture of Red and Timothy's family in their game forms, but, for some reason, in the scene where the pigs arrive during the Bird Island Expedition, the woodpecker carved a picture of himself and (accidentally) Bomb in their movie forms.
- As Red and Bomb dangled from the net of eggs stolen by the pigs during the Raid on the Eggs, who were making their escape via The Porkchop Express, Leonard incorrectly told his minions to "Get him off of there!" instead of the correct plural term "Get them off of there!"
- When the Pigs first arrive, Leonard calls his home island "Piggy Island." But during the Battle of Pig City when the birds attack, he calls it "Pig Island."
