The Angry Birds Movie 2 (or simply Angry Birds 2) is an upcoming 2019 computer-animated action comedy film based on the Angry Birds franchise by Rovio Entertainment Corporation, produced by Columbia Pictures, Rovio Animation, and Sony Pictures Animation, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the sequel to first film: The Angry Birds Movie - which was released in 2016, the film is directed by Thurop Van Orman, from a screenplay by Peter Ackerman, Audrey Niffenegger and Jason Sudeikis (who also voices Red in the films). It is currently scheduled for release on August 16, 2019. The film is the second film in the film series.
Synopsis
The birds embark on a new adventure,with Red ,Chuck and Bomb living together, while King Leonard Mudbeard, King of Piggy Island, plots revenge against them after they devastated his homeland in the Battle of Pig City to reclaim their eggs,the revenge is infesting Bird Island with crabs. Meanwhile, a mysterious purple bird, Zeta, tired of her life on a remote, icy island, threatens them all with her own plans for conquest.The birds and pigs team and become 'Frenemies' to defeat her.
