Production
On August 25th, 2016, Rovio's CEO Kati Levoranta announced that they had began planning for the sequel for the Angry Birds Movie. Not much other information was given, but it can be safely assumed that it would take a long period of time for it to develop, since Rovio had taken 4 years with the initial pilot. On April 26th, 2017, it was announced that the sequel will be released on September 20, 2019. The film will be directed by Thurop Van Orman and co-directed by John Rice. It will be produced by John Cohen and Peter Ackerman will write the screenplay.
