Walking Mortar Towers (known simply as Mortar Towers) are an enemy type in Angry Birds Transformers, created by the EggBots.

Appearance[]

They are massive golem-like Pigs made out of rock and cybernetic steel, with two large arm cannons that shoot giant fireballs, dealing tons of damage.

Game appearance[]

Angry Birds Transformers[]

Walking Mortars (called Mortar Towers in-game) have high health and often appear at any level difficulties. After spotting the player, they will transform into their robot mode and walk in a straight line at a fixed distance, shooting enormous fireballs from their cannons. These fireballs deal massive damage to players who are hit by them, more than a heart of health depending on the difficulty. They can be defeated by simply shooting at them while dodging their fireballs. It is recommended to transform into vehicle mode and drive out of the way to dodge these enemies' fireballs, though they will correct themselves and proceeds to fire at where they player is going, which can be countered by simply transforming back into robot mode. It is also recommended to use the Shieldor Energonicon, which prevents their fireballs from hitting you. They can stunned from electric-based moves, such as a character's EMP Round-induced attacks, the Electroblast Energonicon, or destroying the pink-and-blue missiles, in which case they will temporarily revert to boulder mode and will not be able to move and attack for a few seconds. On higher level difficulties, such as Epic and Legendary, multiple Mortar Towers can appear at the same time. Upgraded Transformers such as Galvatron, Heatwave, Sentinel Prime and Energon Galvatron can easily wipe out Walking Mortar Towers, however.

Trivia[]

  • Despite having two cannons equipped, they only use their left turret to shoot the fireballs.
  • Mortar Towers can only appear in certain pre-set layouts of a level, meaning that depending on the layout, a player can either be lucky enough to encounter little to no Mortar Towers, or be unfortunate enough to encounter as many as eight Mortar Towers in a single level.
